the water with some of our seafood. what do we know about that? >> reporter: yeah, and the concerns are not just the oil in the water, but also the chemical dispersants that bp has been using in record amounts to break up this spill. bp over the course of this disaster has used nearly 2 million gallons of dispersants, and local officials and local residents are worried what the long-term toxicity of that may be. both to the environment and to human life. jenna: the recovery vessels, we're actually seeing video out there of some of the dispersants but the recovery vessel that is we also often see when we talk about this, this leak, they're finding less oil. what does that actually mean and does that mean they're not going to be effective anymore? >> you know, the oil is much more sparse on the surface but what folks are worried about is what lies underneath. residents are worried there may be vast plumes of oil submerged, both because of
