DEM: Coyotes likely to be more visible as they look to feed spring pups

With spring's arrival, Rhode Islanders will likely see more coyotes searching for food for their pups, according to the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.
And the DEM is reminding Rhode Islanders not to feed the animals or leave food where coyotes or any other wild animals, like black bears, can get it.
"If you see coyotes that are bold and brazen, it's often directly related to intentional feeding or easy and reliably available food sources associated with human activities," DEM wildlife biologist Charles Brown said in a news release.
