DEA performs largest meth bust in Russell

RUSSELL Merely days after clearing 2 pounds of crystal meth off the streets, a DEA-led drug task force has struck again, this time seizing the largest-ever amount of the drug in the city of Russell.
Jack Sparks, the DEA head of West Virginia — which oversees Greenup, Boyd and Carter counties in Kentucky — called the busts “just the beginning of this type of enforcement in this area.”
On Sunday, the DEA’s Tri-State Narcotics Team seized 3 pounds of methamphetamine at the Best Western Hotel in Russell, arresting 29-year-old Marquise Glass of Detroit, Michigan. Prior to the raid, Russell Police had stopped a vehicle near the hotel, arresting four others on a mix of charges.
