They took it to the supreme court, and they ended up winning and securing these students right to free speech. How did you hear about this story . History and ap politics. This stood out to us because it students are age. Theres a lot of activism occurring and is important to understand why we have these rights and who to appreciate for getting us these rights. When i look at the design how youn you explain decided to create the visuals and the exhibit . Take the top to three movements that students in our community participate in. First, we have black lives matter, march for our lives, and a local organization which is telescopea 30meter that was going to be built on a Sacred Mountain in hawaii and there is a lot of controversy in the state, whether it should be built not. That was led by the student body and encouraged by our students, just to demonstrate how contrasting the times are from the time of the court case to now, where students and kids our age are encouraged to use our voices. So, why do you think is important to study history cap go history . I think its important to study history because we want to make sure history doesnt repeat itself and we can learn from our past. Relevant issue today. There are so many controversial things going on in this world. It is important to learn about these things and know where they come from. They protested the vietnam war in their time despite the backlash they taste. What kinds of\did they face backlash did they face . Withe District Court sided the school. They also faced backlash from the public. Right here is a hate letter they received. And that is a letter from someone sent to their father that basically said, why are you allowing your children to do this . They should not be able to. A lot of hate. They were determined to fight with fight for what they believed in. They did not give up. Tell me about the violence in vietnam panel. This is basically what inspired the three students to protest. They saw the u. S. Involvement in vietnam was getting an outofcontrol number. For example, one of their classmates was killed in vietnam fighting. And it would be even harder for them to participate, knowing that they would be suspended for wearing them. Americasdisgusted by involvement in vietnam. Is this influencing your career choices . This peaks my interest even more about studying law and the majority dissenting opinions. It provided a lot of insight into the u. S. Justice system. Thats really valuable for me and decisions i want to make right you jerk because i think its is something that is really america. The youth of maybe not my career choice, but it does make me want to stand up for things i believe believe in.
