[cheering] the president of the International Good afternoon everybody. Thank you all for being here. President joe biden, doesnt that sound great. [cheering] so i am supporting joe biden for a number of reasons but there are four main ones. First of all, i trust joe biden. Joe biden is going to restore the soul of the country and the character of the white house. Wouldnt that be nice . [cheering] joe biden will bring integrity with ethics and decency and honesty to the white house. [cheering] joe biden will be able to build a team of outstanding policy advisors, domestic policy advisers and Foreign Policy advisers and staff them with confident people, something we do not see with the current white house. [cheering] the second reason, i like joe biden. He is genuine, caring, authentic and such a decent wonderful person. I cannot wait for him to get into the white house. [cheering] the third reason im supporting joe biden is joe biden will be donald trump. [cheering] in the fourth reason i am supporting joe biden is doctor joe biden. [cheering] joe biden has been a fierce advocate for children, women for people who have suffered from domestic abuse, veterans, men and women in the military and it will be great to have joe biden in the white house, wont it . [cheering] and now its my great pleasure to introduce doctor joe biden. [cheering] thank you. Thank you governor. Thank you. Joe and i are so happy to be back in New Hampshire and especially to see you and susan again and now that we have julia with us, your daughter, thank you for coming. I was recently at a greek festival in New Hampshire and we went with the lynches and what really stood out to me was how much admiration and affection stators have for both of you. I want to thank you for your friendship and your support. [cheering] and president , thank you for sharing this day with us, friendship like yours is without measure in the men and women you represent are incredibly important to me and to joe. And ive talked a lot of firefighters over the years and their commitment to their communities and selflessness, their dedication to professionalism and especially their courage. Is what they deserve, they deserve our gratitude and our respect. [applause] [cheering] there are so many things about my husbands career that i am proud of. From the bills that he passed in the senate, to truly critical work he did sidebyside with president obama for eight years. [cheering] thhe demanded justice for women and culture change to the violence against women act. [cheering] he stood up to the nra and he won twice. [cheering] he thought for the final vote to get the Affordable Care passed. [cheering] and he led the moonshot effort to end cancer as we know it. [cheering] but so many things that make me the proudest of him were covered by the news or recorded in the congressional library. Once when joe was on a photo line, he met a little boy with a stutter. Now many of you may know that joe had a stutter as a child as well. So joe gave the boys mom a number to call so they could visit the white house the next time they were in d. C. And a few months later, this boy and his mom did return to the white house. And joe took them along his beach prep. And joe showed the little boy how he would mark up his speech and use rhythm to get through. He talked about how much fear he used to have himself when he was about his own impediment and how he learned to overcome it. And he encouraged that little boy and said you are so much smarter than i am if i can do it, you can do it. And joe has always been the kind of person who stopped when he sees someone who is struggling who fights for people and feels left out even as Vice President he was never too busy to call a friend or visit a hospital of someone who was sick, his kindness, his character is a part of everything he does its why he works so hard to make sure the middle and working class families dont have to worry about seeing the doctor or sending their kids to college. Its why hes had the courage to stand up again and again and. Sometimes its unremarkable choices we make that define who we are, sometimes its a small kindnesses that can change someones life forever. And in a time when our nation is drowning in corruption and cruelty, we need that kind of character more than ever. We need a leader with experience and wisdom, someone who can bring people together and not tear families apart. [cheering] we need a commanderinchief who we can trust, a president who believes that our best days are ahead of us and that New Hampshire, as our next president of the united states, my husband, joe biden. [cheering] i am joe bidens husband joe, i want to thank you for coming out, i think john and susan in the whole family for being here and you all have been standing out here for a while and one of my favorite things about this is it gives me a chance to meet so many people directly. Somebody asked me was the best thing about running for president , hit hard for you all to believe, though number of friends that you make for the rest of your life, i called them the firefighters, my buddy thank you for all that you have done across the country. [cheering] i promise i will not keep you long because it is freezing out here. I went to school in syracuse, hearing your stories of fears that people have, the discussion that took place in the hardworking folks, things that they occupy in the household and have no sympathy or knowledge of, the fact is i wonder how many people sat at the Kitchen Table today and said whos going to tell her, we dont have the money to send her back, we dont have the money to do it, we cannot borrow it. You have to ride on the tires, these are conversations that took place. Ride another 10000 miles, we cannot afford new tires now for the car. Those practical things that affect peoples everyday lives. And you know its about whats on the ballot this time around, is the character of her nation is on the ballot, who we are as a country and if trump is reelected, i think first of all we know, i think everybody is worried, can we overcome four years of him, we can. We can overcome these four years, it will be hard and we will need somebody who can pull the country together and reunite the world. But its within our reach. But if eight years of donald trump will change the character of this country. And that is why i am running. [cheering] i have learned two things the last several weeks, one, Vladimir Putin does not want me too be president. [cheering] his army on the internet. And also that donald trump does not want me too be the nominee. While i wonder why he does not want me too be the nominee. Let me tell you something. When i started running i said were in the battle for the soul of the country and i meant it. We are, were in the battle for the soul of the nation, it is about living up to our values and its why talk about the soul of the nation in a talk about people lying awake at night like my dad used to stare at the ceiling wonder what happens if i get sick or dont have insurance or what happens to the family, what will i do. Or sending our kids to school, to talk about the soul of the nation, active fire drills, live fire drills, how many of you did that the september, what is wrong with us, we have the courage to take on an array and ive taken them on twice and beaten them twice, ill do it again. I believe in the Second Amendment but nobody says you gather around a magazine for the hundred clips 400 bullets. You can only have three and go shooting for geese but we protect geese better than we do our kids. The fact is, the idea that people are worried about having healthcare, look we can build on it. I was there i helped pass obamacare. He made a difference to millions of people under millions of people in america. 160 Million People now have insurance and the folks were running against are saying you no longer have property insurance. Let them make up their own mind. If they dont want private insurance or like what they have, they can join a public option that i provide expanded. Here is the point, the point of all of this is, we have to make everybody know who donald trump is, even the people who support him know who he is. But we all have to know who we are, and we stand for unity and we stand for hope not fear. In science nonfiction. [cheering] him we democrats stand very straightforward for truth, not lies. [cheering] look, i promise you if im your nominee, it is not only important that we defeat donald trump, we have to defeat him soundly to make it clear that the country will not tolerate another president like this for a long, long time. If you give me the nomination, im going to beat him like a drum. [cheering] thank you all for being here. I love you, god bless you all and may god protect our troops thank you thank you thank you.
