Im not really that surprised. We have a lot of differences. They are weak on crime, illegal immigration, they want the illegal folks to come into the border and a lot of problems are being caused. We have stepped into a large extent as much as you can without the wall. Which we are going to get. They come in for this meeting in before this Missile Launch, they have been weak on military in terms of spending. Theyre very hard to do that. Militaries always seconds appeared military to me as number one. Will not be here without powerful military. General mattis can testify. The other thing they want tax increases and we will major tax decreases. They decided not to show up. I have been all talk and there have been no action. And now, it is even worse. No it is not even talk. So theyre not showing up for the meeting, i will say this. In light of the Missile Launch probably will be here fairly quickly or at least discussions will start taking place fairly quickly. This is been buses traveling across the country on our 50 capitals for peer we recently stopped in Baton Rouge Louisiana asking plus what is the most important issue in their state. The number one issue facing my district continues to be slow recovery. In baton rouge you had a historic running 2016 my district was impacted. My citizens in my district right now are forced to deal with issues that the federal government considers these to be a duplication of benefits. Right now were having trouble getting families the necessary dollars to recover because with our state farm program it happens to be an amount that they will receive through the loan. So right now our recovery has been fell because of the issue. We are working with the congressional delegation. But again this is a tough issue in the community. The most important state issue to me is coastal restoration. The coastline is degrading at a quick rate. We are losing a football field worth of land per hour. I like for the state to focus on restoring and republishing the coastline so future generations can see it. I think the most pressing issue that we are facing and one that we are already working on and had been since the conclusion of our session this past year has been our fiscal budget situation in louisiana. Not uncommon for a lot of other states . I think ours is a little unique. And i think we face in 2018 is the rolloff of revenue and that will expire in june 2018. The ability to be able to find solutions for both on the revenue side and decided what we will be working on, we do enjoy coming up with solutions before that. Voices from the state. On cspan.
