We are going to be relying on the Associated Press to call the races. The New York Times did a piece recently. In a hot election, the coolheaded Associated Press takes center stage. They base their determination on the work of more than 4000 freelance local reporters. Reporters phone the results to the ap vote entry center. More than 800 vote entry clerks assess the data, check with reporters about anomalies before they enter it into the ap system. Aller examines c the results with the Politics Team to determine when a winner can be declared. Two editors have to sign off on every call. When it comes time to name the winner of the provincial race, the associate press Washington Bureau chief must make the call. Along with the president ial 11 open seats. Raceshers, most of the are socalled safe seats. We will talk about those a little bit later. A third of the u. S. Senate is up for grabs as well. Although states and white are open for the election. Jessica taylor of the Cook Political Report covers both the senate and gubernatorial races for that publication. When it comes to the senate, what are the top three races we have been following . And north both iowa carolina, we expect to be the Tipping Point. 53ht now, republicans have a 47 majority. Democrats need to win a net of three seats to win back the majority. The is if joe biden wins white house. We expect them to lose a seat in alabama. Democrat doug jones. We rate two leaning democratic. Colorado and arizona. We will see those results a little later on tonight. Maine, susan to collins. Tossup. Her race as a North Carolina and iowa, that could be Tipping Point states. We are getting some results in. North carolina, still a very close race but Cal Cunningham admitted who had to a sexual affair about a month ago, still remains still was leading in the polls. Leading right now. The race remains too close to call. Over thom tillis. We are waiting for results and iowa. That is another state that could be a Tipping Point place where joni ernst, the republican senator, faces a stronger than theresa challenge from greenfield. This is not a race we did not expect we expected to be competitive in january at least. The third state, georgia. There is a doubleheader. You have the regular election theeen david purdue and democrat. There is a special election, primary. Jumble all candidates are in the same ballot. Two vote getters will advance to a january 5 runoff. Beenrat Rafael Warnock has the leading candidate, and African American pastor. Is fighting for a space in that runoff. Collins hasdoug challenged her from the right. The regular election could also go to a runoff if no candidate exceeds 50 . We could have two races not cited until january. How much hasroken been spent in senate races this year . It is well over 1 billion. Tabulating, so we will not have the final numbers North Carolina is the state we have seen the most expensive ad spending, followed by iowa. South carolina is another race we are closely while watching. The president ial race has already been called for donald trump. That one, you have jamie harris challenging Lindsey Graham. Obliterated fundraising records. 38 milliont the dollars a record set by beto orourke. We also have we include in this, too, the super pac spending. Are able to hold onto their majority or at least keep their losses to a minimum, it is going to credit the Senate Leader ship fund. Aligned with Mitch Mcconnell, they have come in and made up the difference. Even harrison was getting outspent when you include the date and super pac spending. Two races i want to ask you about. You have the Montana Senate race as a tossup. This is another race, this was a solid republican until republicans were able to convince steve bullock. He is virtually the only democrat that would have been able to put this race into play. Steve daines was cruising to reelection until that decision. This is going to be a very close race. They switched to all mailin voting. We could see a substantial count. I am not sure we will know a result. Republicans and democrats expect this to be one of the closest races of the night. This first interview, michigan. You have that leaning democratic. Rated 12 republican held seats as competitive versus just two for democrats. It shows you how much republicans were on defense. Michigan has been a place where we have seen a lot of late republican spending as they are trying to force another democrat on defense in another state. John james the republican who ran and 2018, competing against the incumbent, gary peters. This is the state, we are waiting to see with the president ial results are. Bysident trump was losing 78 points, that is a lot harder for john james to make up. Republicans think he might be able to outperform the president. That may not get him there unless we see some differences in the poll. Jessica taylor, we will remit check in with you. Lets take a closer look at the races she was mentioning. We will start with the senate races on the east coast. David purduehere is vying for a second term. Vote, he hashe raised about 21 million. Versus is democratic opponent jo n ossoff. To openaccording secrets, 21 million spent. Take a look at the special election Jessica Taylor was talking about. Vote reporting right now. Pastors money, the democratic challenger, came from out of state. Eating into Kelly Loefflers boat. There heading for a runoff. In the state of maine, lets go to that state. Senator Susan Collins running for a fifth term. First elected in 1996, promised to only serve two terms. She is ahead against the house speaker, sarah gideon. Expecting this to be a tight race. Going onto North Carolina, thom challenged by Cal Cunningham. One of the oh most Expensive Senate races, 233 million spent. Look where it stands now with 40 of the vote. And in South Carolina, where they have not elected a democrat statewide for 15 years, lindsey point, already percent reporting. Harrison, close to raising 100 million, the most ever for a u. S. Senate candidate. Lindsey graham raised 1 million a day in the first two weeks of october. What was happening at that time . Confirmation hearing for amy coney barrett. 202 is the area code. If you support President Trump, Vice President biden, and all want to get your perspective as well. Just a reminder, cant get through on the phone lines and you want to send a text, you can do so to this number. Please do so carefully. Name and yourirst city if you would. Lets hear from jennifer in montpelier, ohio on the support President Trump line. Jennifer, you are kicking us off. It was good. How are you guys doing . We are doing good. Did you vote today . I tried to get over there but i could not due to my mother is disabled. He did not vote. To butd not get a chance i was going to today before it closed but did not make it. All right. Why do you support President Trump . First, he is a great president. He is helping out the world from like being into the wars. With stimulusout checks to help families to support their families. A greathink he would be president. The pastne a lot over four years. Husband is also support him. Did they vote . No. Not at the moment. So if he loses by three votes in ohio, it is your familys fault, is that what you are telling me . Not quite but i am just teasing. Jennifer, thank you for calling in, thank you for giving your views. Sarah is in massachusetts on the Vice President biden line. Hello. How has this season been for you . It is great. I am a first time voter. I am 33 years old, i have never voted before. This is my first year voting and it is great. Why did you wait until you are 33 . I was never into politics. I never really cared about politics. Once the pandemic came into play, i felt like maybe it was kind of shoved down your throat a little bit and i started following. That is why it is to vote this year. Did you vote for joe biden against donald trump . I voted for donald trump. You did vote for donald trump you been i apologize because you are calling in we have you calling in on the joe biden line. I am sorry. Apologize to you for that. Nick in pittsburgh in our thirdparty did not vote read what is your situation . Gray even up voting though unfortunately green even though the democrats sued and got the green party off the ballot. I ended up fighting writing them in. I voted for them in 2016 as well. One of the issues of concern to you . I graduated college with everything going on. All,s like medicare for the idea of paying hundreds of dollars for insurance on top of student loan debt, trying to find an apartment or get a house. That is a big fear of mine. I am very antiwar. I could not support Vice President biden after everything that has happened with the middle east and his support of the iraq war, which i consider to be illegal. Very against how the Energy Companies have been affecting Climate Change. Does that include fracking which is a big issue in western pa . Doesnt get as many jobs as President Trump says it does. I have seen maybe 21,000, which tonow is a lot but compared say the Auto Industry in michigan, which has been devastated, fracking, it will just do more harm than good in the long run in my opinion. All right, thanks nick for spending a few and is with us on Election Night. Benjamin in virginia. Writete says reitan in. I wrote in Bernie Sanders for the selection. I think both parties are completely corrupt and dont really care about the needs of ordinary people in this country. What is one of those needs . Extremely basic needs. Joe biden equivocated on many issues because he wants to win. Things Like Universal Health care or Green New Deal to combat Climate Change are completely necessary. Bernie sanders doesnt even go far enough. Virginia has already been declared for joe biden. Theres nothing i can do about that, right . What kind of work do you do. Im a photographer. How has covid been for you . It has been awful for me economically. But i have still been fortunate enough to make it through and not be complete we devastated. My business has completely died. We need to look at this in terms of public health. 200,000 people, that is a lot of americans dead. My Economic Hardship is not compared at all to the people who have lost loved ones and family members. Have you had any contact or know anybody who got covid . I do. I have known about half a dozen people who have died. Kyle in florida in our support President Trump line. Where is crestview . Yes, sir. Up in the panhandle. What was your day like . Crazy. I am a Political Science major at my college. The lead up to this has been insane. Have you been a volunteer . No, not currently. I am doing my internship with a local law firm. Did you vote early or today . I did a mailin voting. Did you have any confirmation your vote went through . An email from the state of florida saying they received it. What has been the level of political activity in the panhandle region . My gosh, it has been crazy. Far a red voting area. You see a lot of people with trump flags, apparel. Definitely a red area. Are you seeing a lot of Television Commercials or ads on social media for the candidates . No, not at all. That is kyle in crestview, florida. What you have . I want to show this piece written by David Westerman who works for the Cook Political Report and follows house races. Bewrote a piece tonight, aware of the blue maras and red mirage. It is likely in sunbelt battlegrounds such as florida, the first totals to be reported will be early and in person ballots that break for joe biden. A trump mirage. But the opposite could be true in northern battlegrounds where officials are not begin processing mail ballots. A red mirage from Trump Officials could linger until metro counties report mail and ballots later. Mitch mcconnell has been declared the winner in his senate speech. And just gave an acceptance speech. Here he is. In his senate race and just gave an acceptance speech. Here he is. [no audio] a lot comes to mind in a night like tonight. First and foremost is gratitude. Great full to live in a democratic republic where the People Choose our representatives. Grateful to be citizens of the greatest nation in history. Humbled and, i am grateful you have rehired me to keep fighting for your families and serving our commonwealth. The great kentuckian and my hero henry clay said the greatest of all human powers is competition. The competition of ideas is crucial in a free society. My opponent ran a spirited race. She stood up for her views and won a lot of votes. I applaud her willingness to step forward. I want to thank the team that worked so hard to connect with kentuckians and make our case. Holmes, myjosh indispensable advisor in all things political. Who grew up from a young field rep into running this campaign. Sincewho has been with me 1984. Question, wering the mitch who . Thank my best friend and partner. Incredible person. She is accomplished as a leader and public servant. A walking manifestation of the American Dream. She is a blessing i do not deserve. But for which i am thankful every single day. The people of kentucky had a clear choice. They sent a clear message. Tonight, kentuckians said challenging times need proven leadership. Need kentuckyl values and ideas to defeat this virus and regain our footing. Working families, minors, miners. Health care workers in Northern Kentucky and the teachers in louisville. The Law Enforcement officers in bowling green. And servicemembers stationed across the commonwealth. They are all going to continue to have a voice in every Important National decision. I am the only one of the four congressional leaders not from new york or california. I look out for middle america. I have been sent back to washington so the working people who make things and grow things and mine things and raise families in smaller cities and towns and teach our kids are values are going to keep their ande, keep their influence, help our nation come back even stronger. The trust of the people of kentucky has literally changed my life. Martinwitnessed dr. Luther kings march on washington speech as an intern, i dreamed about doing big things to help our state and country. I never imagined kentuckians would make me the longest serving senator in our States History or my fellow Senate Republicans would make me the longestserving republican leader in senate history. We have used kentuckys front row seat for the good of our state and our nation. We have made historic progress judiciary a federal that respects separation of powers. We have confirmed billion and ourified men who revere constitution. We have delivered the leaf for kentucky and all 50 states. We have rebuilt our National Defense and deterred enemies. Times, we have accomplished all of this well protecting the senates rules and traditions. Of senate kept the heat partisanship from damaging our institution forever. , toedamers fire walled the line. Said, we are not finished yet. Kentucky once more of the policies that have built the most prosperous economy in history. Not socialism. We want to continue rebuilding our military andrew leading around the world. And leading around the world. Not to cut bad deals or just hope adversaries would ignore us. We want to keep china like the threat it was, not settle for a future where america slides into secondclass. We are going to stand up for the unborn, not surrender to an elite coastal culture that says the most vulnerable lives are disposable. Kentucky said we are keeping our front row seat in the senate. We dont know which president ial candidate will begin a new term candidate will begin a new term in january. We do not know which party will control the senate, but some things are certain are ready. Certain already. We know grave challenges will remain before us. Challenges that could not care less about our political polarization. We know our next president will need to unite the country as we continue to bring different ideas and commitments to the table. We also know that beyond any shadow of a doubt, our nation, our people can do this. Have31 years, americans dominated one challenge after another. We have everything we need to defeat this terrible virus and come back stronger. We have the most resilient institutions, the most blessed land and the greatest people in the history of the world. This is no time to attack our constitution like some outdated relic. These are the times it was made for. This is no time to tear down statues of our founders and heroes. This is the time to follow their example. Declare warime to on our institutions because one side is angry that the framers made it hard to achieve radical change. This is a time to defend all we have inherited and pass it on even stronger. Our nationa child, was battling a different virus, polio. It was hurting thousands and thousands of families every year. As a very young child, that fight became my own. While my father was off fighting world war ii in europe, i was fighting a different battle. Thank god i had a guardian angel. She also happened to be my mother. My mom found our way to warm springs in georgia. We tracked to the facility over and over, more than 100 miles roundtrip. My mother took the doctors advice as gospel. When a toddlerl just wanted to run around. He guided me through exercises i apparently totally hated. She did it all while checking the mailbox every day for precious letters from my dad from overseas. It is only because of her determination that my first vivid memory by her side in a small store on our way out of warm springs for the last time, buying my first real pair of shoes. About 10 years later, American Ingenuity had found the vaccine and American Free enterprise was scaling it up. We beat polio here and we have almost defeated it worldwide. My fellow americans, our country is going to get back on her feet. Our nation has real challenges and real adversaries but our fellow citizens are not our enemies. There is no challenge we cannot overcome together. Kentuckians, you have given me the honor of a lifetime. I will always be grateful. I will never let you down. And thebless kentucky United States of america. With 89 of the vote reporting in kentucky, Mitch Mcconnell has a 58 to 38 lead over amy mcgrath. Millionath raised 82 according to open secrets. Org and only 3 of that came from within the state of kentucky. Back to your calls. Dakotan aberdeen, south on our support President Trump line. Hi, james. How are you doing . Good. What do you want to share with us tonight . I do believe trump is going to win tonight, of course. What we heardhat from before, i totally agreed with the senator. I do believe great things are really going to happen. I love god. I totally believe in jesus christ. That is james in aberdeen, south dakota, which is predicted to go for President Trump. Net is in denver, colorado nick is in denver colorado. According to the note here on my screen, it says you did not get a ballot. Ballot, ually did get my but i got it a week before the election and i like i sent it two months at about before the election. All right. Voted andve already you voted by mail, correct . Way my, but there is no ballot is going to come in before the count. I apologize. Maybe i missed that. When did you send in this ballot . I sent in the ballot about a week ago. But i received it about a week ago. So you do not think a week is enough time to get your ballot in . No, i think i registered for has y enough and it they got rid of my right to vote. Who did you vote for on that ballot or who were you going to vote for . Of course, biden. Ok, why . Because i was actually not very into biden at the beginning. I was very critical of him. I thought he was too old and i think that he is all over the place during the debate, but i think he is what we need as a country right now. I think he is someone who is going to listen to his top advisers. He is going to listen to science. He is someone who can have a level head in some of these situations where trump gives us lies and tells us things are going to be ok when they are not. Were you going to vote for John Hickenlooper in the senate as well . Vineland, new jersey on our President Trump line. Hi, carlos. Hi, how are you doing today . Please go ahead and tell us what you want to tell us. Believe it or not, a lot of south jerseyans are supporting trump. It is really frustrating as someone from south jersey. Seeing jersey constantly a blue state. Also, i would like to say that as someone who is in the mid range that cannot receive benefits but the tax cut is going to hit and it is going to affect my job and it is going to affect everything biden is going to pursue. That is one of the reasons why a lot of people from south jersey that i know of is going for trump. And what kind of work do you do in as you call it, south jersey . Actually, the company that i work with actually has to do with solar. With solar . Yes. What has it been like for the pandemic like during the pandemic for you . It was ok. We continued working because you know, we shut down after the shutdown happened. Soon as we went back to work, we went ok. Even after the shutdown with the tax cuts, business is still kicking. If it was not for trump from the beginning, i would probably not have had a job. How did you vote . One of the drop boxes. And when did you do it . About two weeks ago. Did you get a receipt of any type saying your ballot had been accepted . No. I have not received anything. Interesting. Carlos, take you for calling in. Greta has more information for us. Lets take a look at some of the house races this election cycle better considered tossups. We will begin with new yorks 11th district. This is one of the 31 day strikes that the president won in 2016 but democrats took back in 2018. Way to go, bill. [applause] thank you. There are so many people to thank tonight, but the very first to thank is the lord, our savior. Through him, all things are possible. Thank you. [applause] i look forward to serving right alongside you to continue to bring strong, conservative tennessee values to the senate. To senator Lamar Alexander, an exceptional leader, an eagle scout, a statesman, someone who serves our state as governor, someone who served as the president of the university of tennessee. The United States secretary of education, a president ial candidate on two occasions and most recently as a senior United States senator, you have led an incredible life and you left a great legacy for all of us. Thank you for your service. [applause] anza President Trump, i want to thank and to President Trump, i want to thank you for your unwavering support. I look forward to speaking to you again tonight to congratulate you time. [applause] you know, my father was the product of a great generation. He was a veteran of the korean war. He returned home and he worked alongside his father in road construction. Times were often tough, but he taught me the value of hard work. Strongilled in me conservative tennessee values, the same values i will take to the United States senate to serve all of you. Thank you. [applause] you know, elections are about democracy and choosing. Choosing between different philosophies. A choice between two ways of living our lives. A choice between paths toward socialism or towards freedom. To freedom. [applause] tennesseans have proven democracy still works and they have made their choice. [applause] socialism will not stand in america. Lets let freedom ring. [applause] you have chosen conservative values, tennessee values. That is why i ran and these are the values that will guide me as a bring our conservative principles to the senate. I am going to work hard to make all of you tennessee proud. [applause] tonights victory belongs to the people of tennessee. As senator johnson said, it has been a tough year, but i am optimistic that let that better days lie ahead. To all the family struggling to make ends meet, to the businesses struggling to hang on, to all the tennesseans young and old that still believe america is the most exceptional nation in the world, i am going to work every day to make your vision and dreams a reality. [applause] and i will not forget that it was you that sent me to the United States senate. I will fight for what is right in our state and what is best for our nation, the nation that we all hold so dear. Together, we will prevail over the challenges we prevent we confront today. America indeed is the most exceptional nation in the world, a nation that rewards ingenuity, a nation that rewards hard work. Tennessee is the most exceptional state in this wonderful nation. [applause] i look forward to working with senator blackburn and with governor lee and with all of the strong conservative leaders, any of whom are right in this room tonight, to continue to make tennessee strong in prospers. Strong and prosperous. I will work to make sure every tennessean has the opportunity to live the American Dream. I am going to stand for our freedoms, our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech. [applause] i will work to ensure prosperity for our nation and to secure safety and security for every american. [applause] this campaign has given me an opportunity to meet so many tennesseans. Any folks who are hurting. Many folks who are hurting. Businessmen who are barely hanging on. Law enforcement officers who are keeping us safe. Pastors who are leading every day. Soldiers at Fort Campbell who exemplify what it means to serve. You have forever left your mark on my heart. You have deepened my love for this great state and now, you have given me the greatest honor of my life, to serve you as your next United States senator. Thank you. [applause] to my dad, to my mom, to every person here, [applause] mother at home and to her father like mine who is watching above from heaven, i want to say, i will work every day to make you tennessee proud. Thank you and may god bless. [applause] and that was senator elect phil hegarty in nashville replacing Lamar Alexander with 58 of the vote in. 61 of the vote went to him, his democratic challenger, 36 . Jessica taylor with the Cook Political Report. You have a special connection to tennessee. Is that correct . It is my home state. Congratulations to senator elect haggerty. And, this was not a surprise. With Lamar Alexander retiring, which i mean, he is an institution in the state. He was governor when i was born and then the senate. I think a lot of us tennesseans are said to leave us are sad to see him leave. We will see what kind of senator he will be. He ran pretty far to the right in the primary, which he had to do in order to win. We have seen Lamar Alexander and howard baker and bill frist and bob corker that required that retired two years ago. They have been more moderate pragmatic senators. Centerright in some instances. When Marsha Blackburn was elected two years ago, she represented a stark departure from that. How haggerty will fit into the republican conference, we will have to see. I have had some people tell me to expect him to follow in the footsteps of tom cotton or someone like that in neighboring arkansas. He will certainly be one to watch. He is the former ambassador to japan. He had served in the bill Haslam Administration when he was governor. He has a connection to both both dichotomies of the Republican Party. A business background for mr. Haggerty . Yes. He has been a long time businessmen. That is something he will certainly bring. We are seeing that is an appealing profile, that we see a lot of these more wealthy businessmen. Rob corker when he was elected had more of the business background. This will be his first elected office. Do you think if Lamar Alexander had run again given what you said about him being a moderate republican, could he have won . 2014,n he was running in he faced unexpectedly strong challenge from joke are from joke carr. He lost his home county of glynn county. That was something i know was had to hurt quite a bit because he is a proud son of mary bill. Alexander, he has earned a retirement. Being an east tennessee and, i know there is no better place to retire to than the Smoky Mountains so i am a little bit jealous of that. The Associated Press has called the Colorado Senate race for former governor John Hickenlooper. 66 of the vote in. Senator cory gardner being defeated. What can you tell us about this race . This is the first big call of the night. This is the first one where we have a democrat flipping a seat from republicans. I think we always expected cory gardner was going to be the most vulnerable because when we look at it, your two republican senators there are two republican senators that represent states that trauma lost. We expect that to be larger and with the state being called for biden, it looks like it is on track to be larger than the five point Hillary Clinton won it by. He distanced himself from trump in 2016 after the access Hollywood Tape and Different Things. He has sort of embraced him and that is the quandary a lot of the Senate Republicans found themselves in. Do you embrace the president because you need his supporters and try to dissuade threats of a primary challenge or do you try to move toward the middle and appealed to independents . There is a lot of nonaffiliated voters. They are growing in colorado. I think it became apparent that the lien of the state was going to be too much for cory gardner. Pasts the immediate chairman of the National Republican senatorial committee. I think it was really hard for a lot of republicans to acknowledge that race was not going to go their way and stop spending there in the final few weeks. I think the state was moving too far in the democratic direction. We have seen that with governor races as well. You have governor hickenlooper. That was a pretty moderate centerleft governor. Briefly ran for president. That did not work out too well. And then, launched his bid for senate. The bestt running campaign. He had questions he had ethics complaints that were filed by a republican group. That they dismissed as republicans trying to foment an attack line against him. I think it threw him off a little bit. Hink gardner through gardner ran as good of a race as he could. 2008, it is back to certainly losing its battleground status. Very quickly, we showed Mitch Mcconnells victory speech from louisville a few minutes ago. Amy mcgrath raised 82 million and 97 of that money according to open secrets came from out of state. She did. Saw the numbers moving. I think at some point it was diminishing returns. She raised a lot of that because she was running against Mitch Mcconnell who angers liberals every time they see him. I think that was giving more to spend against mcconnell than it was for her. She has now lost a house race and a senate race. Taste in a state like kentucky was always going to be upheld. It is still early on for the senate. I thought it was much more likely that Mitch Mcconnell was going to be Senate Minority leader rather than a former senator. We are still tracking these results. It is still too early to extrapolate anything large in the senate right now. It is a minute to 10 00 p. M. On the east coast. Closing includes montana and iowa. Their pollsarc are closing. What are you going to be watching for . Those are two Crucial Senate races. I mentioned iowa and carolina i thought could be Tipping Point states. North carolina is very close. Closer than we expected. Thee are still a third out last time i checked a few minutes ago. Not able to are flip North Carolina, i think iowa becomes the next possible one. I think this will give us an idea of whether biden was able to cut into some of those margins in the midwest. Blue wall of michigan and wisconsin that they are more worried about and pennsylvania, but iowa, a state that democrats had hoped to make a change in going on and that includes the senate. Montana, a state that both parties have had tracking very closely. Within the margin of error for both candidates. We will see what the results look like. Those are two critical states on the senate map overall. We will check in with Jessica Taylor a little bit later but lets hear from carol in munster, indiana on our supported Vice President biden line. Hi, carol. Hello. What do you want to tell us tonight, carol . I have been a very staunch biden supporters since the day he put his hat in the candidacy. I mean, very staunch. Thats stood for everything the United States stands for. Has advised this country so awfully bad where other countries are looking at the United States right now and literally laughing at us. Makee gone as far as to the states that we needed for biden and today, i worked a 12 hour day at the polls. For biden. And i will tell you that i am very proud to consider myself a democrat and to stand behind biden and harris to be the next president and Vice President of the United States because the person we have in there right now does not know what he is doing. Countrynkrupting our and nobody is even realizing what he is doing to us. How was the turnout in northwest indiana . It has been amazing. We came out early. We started groups online on different types of social media. We came out early in the polls. We were turning in absentee ballots to vote early. Especially the women. Especially the women of indiana came out early. As you know, indiana has already been declared for the president. Pauline is in colorado springs, colorado on our support Vice President biden line. Hi, how are you . What do you want to share tonight . I just want to share that i have considered myself an independent for quite a while, with a travesty of covid and the lack of respect donald trump has for the people of this country has definitely made me a biden supporter in this election. So in that sense, are you saying you are voting more ngainst donald trump thea for joe biden . Is that a Fair Assessment . Sort of. I probably would have democratic anyway in this election. But probably. I think his handling of covid has been devastating to this country. I have elderly parents who are at risk and the total disregard his lack ofople, empathy, his lack of caring, his division racially is sad. It is sad what he is doing to this country. Is a good man i think. We will see. I appreciated his work under president obama. It is kind of against donald trump. He is not a nice person. Colorado springs itself is kind of a conservative area, isnt it . It is a military man. As a matter fact a military town. As a matter of fact, i am a military spouse. It looks like colorado went for joe biden and governor hickenlooper. Projected to win colorado. Pretty excited about that. I have three teenagers who are super hyped about the selection. They are sitting around watching the results, which is kind of exciting and i am really happy to see they are invested. They have been upset by the whole mishandling of covid throughout the country. I have a senior in high school his senior year has been disrupted by. We couldve done better. That is pauline in colorado springs. Greta is still checking results and news. Lets start with the Senate Colorado race that was called. The former governor John Hickenlooper ousts cory gardner, the republican 55. 3 percent to 42. 7 . The Associated Press calling this race. Cory gardner won his first term in 2014 by little over 39,000 votes. Since 2014 according to the colorado sun, over 238 colorado voters switched Political Parties with the most becoming unaffiliated. This time around in 2020, the unaffiliated made of the largest voting bloc in the state of colorado. Lets take a look at South Carolina, another senate race foes rays folks are watching early. Nz Graham Lindsey graham declared the winner, beating out a tough challenge from Jamie Harrison. Jamie harrison raising a lot of money in that race but does not have enough to oust senator Lindsey Graham who is serving his third term. He will be sent back to the senate for a fourth term. Alabama, take a look at the results. 61. 7 for the republican challenger to senator doug jones who won this in a special election in 2016. Tommy tubb or bill, the former auburn football coach coming out ahead right now with 49 reporting. Jones according to nbc our raised his challenger by a margin of three to one. We will continue to watch that race. We showed you bill haggerty, the new senator from tennessee. His victory speech tonight. Lamar alexander who retired from that seat sends out a tweet congratulations to him on his impressive victory. I have been proud to support bill to occupy the senate seat that howard baker, al gore, Fred Thompson and i have held. He will be a terrific United States senator for all tennesseans. Let me go back to the South Carolina race. Maybe a little explanation here. Jamie lovegrove who covers South Carolina politics. The Constitution Party candidate bill bledsoe sent this out. Below 3 everywhere across the state. Jamie harrison was banking on a stronger performance of him to cut into Lindsey Graham. Maybe an explanation there of what happened in that senate race. As we continue to look at results, we also want to hear your voices. You can see the numbers on the lefthand side of the screen. 202 7488920 if you are a supporter of President Trump. If you are supporting Vice President biden, 202 7488921. If you are not supporting either of those gentlemen and have different perspective or you did not vote today, here is the number for you to call. 202 7488922. You can also text in 202 7488903. Please text carefully. Include your first name and your city and share your thoughts with us about alexion 2020, about your experience in voting. Whatever you want to share with us. We would like to hear from you. Justin in san diego. You are calling in on our independent or third line. Why is that . I did vote because i think it is important. I also think it is very interesting that not more attention is paid to the fact that out of 380 million americans, are two choices are two guys in their 70s, one of whom was a reality tv star and the other of whom had not had support for their run for president in 45 years in government. I think it says more about us than them. You said you did vote today. Did you do it in person today . I did not. I made sure my ballot was postmarked in time because i really wanted to give every candidate the opportunity to change my position. Who did you end up voting for if we can ask . I am happy to share that or i would not have called in. I actually did vote for trump because in my mind, i believe biden is a better man should i believe his a better man. I believe his mental acuity issues concern me. At the end of the day, i looked at the fact that trump was able to get the dow average from 19,000 when he was elected to somewhere around 28,000. I did not check today. If all things being equal with regard to the pluses and minuses, i will choose the prosperity of our nation. You did not mention in this conversation we are having right now the covid pandemic. Where does that fit in your list of important issues . Anyone that does not recognize it as the most important issue of 2020 is lying to themselves. That the trumpme position minimized some of the precautions. Yet, i believe in how polarized it seems as american politics has gotten in the last only few years. I believe that i could be wrong i could be overly cynical and that had the republicans chosen a precautionary sense with regard to the pandemic, the democrats would have taken the other side and blasted them for being overcautious. That is why i am listening to your broadcast rather than any of the other networks. I am so sick of a network blindly following an ideology instead of striving to maintain objectivity. It is difficult for us to be objective because we all have our opinions but a News Organization owes that to people so they can form their own opinions. And final question. How did you vote on the property tax proposition on the ballot in california and on the uber proposition . How did you vote on those two . As a criminal defense attorney in theory, i should vote against uber because i get more clients if there is no uber or lyft. Weight. You have to wait. How do you explain that . How do you get more clients . That is something a lot of people do not consider. If uber and lyft do not exist, people will drive drunk. If i were going to be cynical enough to just think about my own benefits in theory, i would not one third to be right shares. I know it is better for everyone if there are. And now the property tax proposition. Well, in that regard, i considered my familys Real Estate Holdings and decided that any time we can limit property tax, that gets my vote. But i just want to add one thing and then i will allow you to let me go. Do Much Research do people as they are voting . If they are just reading what is listed in their voting manual, they are certainly not understanding all of the nuance that goes into laying the proposition. To allow these complex issues to go to something as difficult as a vote. That really is a manual. I have seen the california election manuals. How long did it take you to fill it out . Three hours. Thank you three hours. Sir for your time. Cory gardner conceded his race in denver. Thank you for the opportunity to share with you this evening. My thanks to the people of colorado for the great honor of being able to serve you over the last six years, 10 years including the house of representatives. I want to thank the incredible supporters across colorado who fought so hard this evening. The incredible staff in my personal office and the Incredible Team in the campaign. And of course, to my family. I cannot thank you enough for the incredible support you have been over these years and the work. We have done together to my mom and dad and sister and family, thank you for your incredible service. Six years ago, i set out to accomplish things for all four corners of colorado. To make sure we had a chance to fight for the economy, our environment, for energy, for education. I was able to become the third most bipartisan member of the United States senate, to pass more legislation into law than the colorado congressional delegation combined. An economy that was treating tax cuts and regulatory reforms and record unemployment rates. To create more dual enrollment opportunities for children across colorados high schools. To provide more opportunities for minorities in education and stem fields. To make sure when it came to energy we now me boosted our Energy Production and creta jobs in every nook and cranny in our state, but we had opportunities for Renewable Energy as well. Working hard on solar tax credits to make sure we increased funding for the real Energy Laboratory by over 50 . We moved the bureau of Land Management headquarters to colorado. Began to fulfill the promise john f. Kennedy made to begin construction on the Arkansas Valley conduit, a promise he made 50 years ago. Those opportunities for the people of colorado are real. In the midst of a Global Pandemic, we fought for the relief colorado desperately needed, aching sure we have the tests and equipment the state had to have to get through the pandemic together. And we will get through this pandemic together. Elect johnsenator hickenlooper to congratulate him on his victory tonight. To welcome him to the United States senate and to make sure he knows i will support him in any way he can to make sure it is as smooth as possible and we will assist him with any questions he might have. Please understand, to all the people who supported our efforts tonight that his success is colorados success and our nation and our state need him to succeed. We need to be united together. Again, thanks to the tireless volunteers who came together from all four corners of our state. It was during the beginning days of the pandemic night received a from theom someone pen of the pandemic that i received a letter from someone inside the letter was a pair of pliers. It was a unique thing to include sawyer read the letter it was to include so i read the letter. It was from a soldier i visited in hospital. I did not think i knew him when the department of defense told me he had been wounded in afghanistan and had lost his right arm. The second i walked into the room i knew who he was. I knew who his family was. I knew who his parents were and his grandparents. I shared the story of his ancestors that my grandfather had told me. His grandparents or greatgrandparents would walk into our family Farm Equipment business and they would pick up a pair of pliers and he would squeeze them and they would snap the pen and the players to see whether or not they were good enough to buy. I told this young soldier who had just lost his arm that story. In this letter with that pair of pliers he wrote to me that i had come to visit him. T his ancestors were apparently would not buy a pair of players unless they stood up to their strength. He kept that story with him. For the last five years, he trained with that pair of pliers that he took with him to remind him what it took to regain his strength, to train his nondominant arm to be his new dominant arm. He is now the only amputee to teach special forces in this country. He finished this letter with this. Sometimes our tools break. Sometimes it is our fault. Sometimes they are not flats 30 to begin with. Sometimes these tools have been used the point of failure. Every time though, what really matters is what we do once that tool is broken. We fix it. We get a new one. Or we get or we improvise something better. Either way, we figure out how to finish the job because people are depending on us to get it done. No matter what the outcome of an election is, our nation will always be extraordinary because of people like captain duvall. Know that no matter how things turn out, we must always figure out how to finish the job because people are depending on all of us to get it done. As Ronald Reagan once said, the trail was long but the company was always the best. To the people of colorado, thank you for this great honor to serve you. Days areons better ahead of us and let none of us forget that. God bless the great state of colorado in these great United States of colorado nine states of america. United states of america. Former governor John Hickenlooper, 50 of the vote so Cory Gardners 43 with 75 reporting. Credit is with us all night tonight looking at results and news. She has got some more. President trump during his first term, during his first four years of his administration has frequently attacked what has been known as the squad on capitol hill, the freshman female house members. Lets take a look at their races tonight. Well begin with alexandria declared the, victory. 73 are reporting. She won two years ago with 78 of the boat. In minnesotas fifth district, democratic congresswoman omar beating back a challenge from lacey johnson. And then in massachusetts, Ayanna Pressley in the seventh district of massachusetts. 59 reporting. A very large lead. There is one other race in michigan. This is where she had to leave this is talibs race. Alexandria, ceo cortez Alexandria Ocasio Cortez with this tweet. Serving in congress has been the greatest privilege in my life. Thank you to the bronx and queens very likely me to the house despite the millions spent against us. Britney is in conway, South Carolina on our support President Trump line. Both the president and Lindsey Graham have been projected to be winners in South Carolina tonight. I know. I have seen that. I am so thankful everyone around me has seen President Trump has done a great job as president. Our unemployment levels are lower than ever. So yeah. I definitely think we are a day and i am all for that. Andhat about the pandemic closures in South Carolina . Do you think that a peck do you think that affected peoples vote at all . Donald trump took care of us when the pandemic hit. He sent us stimulus checks. He gave us unemployment when he could not when we could not work. I think that is why everyone is voting for President Trump. He took care of us and he did a great job as president. Lindsey grahams opponent raised a lot of money. Did he have a lot of Television Commercials, a lot of advertising . Definitely. He had a lot of commercials. I saw Jamie Harrison everywhere. Unfortunately, it just did not work out for him and i do not know why that is, but yeah, he did not win. Britney, what do you do in conway, South Carolina . Jobs. I worked two. I work for a Company Called political connections so we call people during the election and we find out who is voting for trump and who is voting for biden and we take surveys and send it into clients. Rver at ase restaurant. Has the steakhouse reopened . It definitely has reopened. People wear their mask and when they sit down, they take their mask off. We have a lot of clients. It is great. Back here first job, do you do that political back to your first job, do you do that political calling on a neutral basis or in support of one other the other of one or the other candidates . It is usually a neutral basis, but it defendant but it depends who our client is. We do both. It is not really we are not biased. Weber hires you whoever hires you. Exactly. Thanks for your time this evening. Chuck is in greer, South Carolina. He is on our support Vice President biden line. How far is greer from conway . I actually have no idea to be honest with you. All right. How is alexion 2020 going for electionow is 2020 going for you so far . I did early voting back in midoctober. I am very i am still very conflicted even after casting my because i am biden a member of the for joe biden because im a member of the democrat socialist of america. I certainly do not have any support for trump. I think there is a very good chance we will not have much of a shot at socialist reform under a biden administration. That is my fear judging from his voting history as a senator and as the Vice President. We risk the same neoliberal dystopia we have currently. Just as much war and destruction. Just as much if not more austerity. We even risk losing more people to the right if his administration or if we do get a democraticcontrolled congress, if they do essentially what they have been doing for the past 20 or 30 years, which is about down to republican legislation. Bringing more people to the right with their ineffectual politics. Chuck, why are you a socialist . I shifted leftwing more and more throughout my life,. I was raised throughout my life. I was raised a republican, i have grown more and more sure that neither republicans nor democrats have our interest in mind. I think what we do need is sleeping reform that is weeping reform that neither of the Political Parties are willing to give us. I do think that democratic socialism is the answer we need to be looking for whether we are the lowest americans, the lowest income americans i should say or whether we are just middleclass americans that are also trying to get by. What is the issue that really gets you going . Right now, i do think that the covid pandemic that has been one of the biggest things that has been getting me angry just from the past year. We started this year and it was a blip on my radar. Much not give it consideration, but as time went on, it became the center of all of our lives. Seeing trumps completely ineffectual response to the whole thing just astounds me. The fact that we have countries like france that have been giving stimulus checks every other week and even larger checks in the one larger incks than the one we got april. That on abeen getting very regular basis. Most americans or at least i only got one stimulus check. That is not enough for us to live off of. That is not enough for the poorest families to live although if. Even beyond that, if biden wins tonight or later this week, a lot of people are going to be saying thank god trump as gone. Things can go back to normal. Tell that to the single father who cannot who is uninsured and cannot afford to pay for chemotherapy for his daughter. Tell that to the people struggling in soup kitchens that do not even know when they can pay for food. Longnk this is just the overbearing, longterm problems our country is facing. Trump is definitely not going to solve that for us. Joe biden, we have a chance to solve that. I think that is ultimately why i voted for him. Thanks for sharing a little bit with us this evening on this Election Night. We really appreciate it. Former governor John Hickenlooper is now senator elect hickenlooper from colorado. Here was his victory speech. Good evening. Tonight, your message is loud and clear. It is time to put the poisonous politics of this era behind us and come together to move forward. More coloradans have voted in in our state history. As it looks now, colorado is going to have the higher highest voter turnout of any state in our nations history. Clearly, people are saying it is time to turn the page. It is time for different approach. It is time to start solving problems and helping people, and that is exactly what i intend to do. I want you to know that i am honored by the trust you have placed in me, and i am deeply committed to the job ahead. We have got to get washington working for everyone. The voters of which party that ends up controlling the senate, i want you to know that i will work with anyone and everyone to help colorado. We have had enough leaders in washington thinking it was their blueo fully represent america or red america, red colorado or blue colorado. I have always thought it is my job to represent all of colorado. That is what it will take to reach this pandemic, to make sure people have decent jobs to beat this pandemic, to make sure people have decent jobs and to get Affordable Health care for everyone and for social justice and to address the pervasive inequities that our nation has tolerated for too long and to protect our planet and address the nightmare of these endless wildfires and tackling Climate Change. There is a lot to do, and lord knows, the situation in washington is a broken mess. But i am in optimist. I believe this country is ready to begin a new chapter. So tonight, i pledge to you that i will work my heart out for this state that i love, and i will do everything that i can to bring common sense and decency to our world. Gardnero thank senator for his service and wish him and his family the very best. I want to say to everyone who voted for him, i will be your senator, as well. Mynk you to my wife, robin, son, teddy, for standing with me and for being an essential part of what i am at everything i do. I cannot thank you both enough. Thank you to my amazing staff who had to adapt to this crisis and campaign in a way that none of us ever could possibly have imagined. I am grateful for your time, your resilience, and your talents. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and endorsed this campaign, put up a sign, talked to a friend, chipped in a few bucks, made phone calls, sent texts, and voted. And thank you to the people of colorado for your confidence and trust. I cannot wait to be your senator. Together, i know we can change washington. Thank you so much. Lets get to work. That is senator hickenlooper, of the vote,5 Senator Cory Gardner with 42 . Lets check back in with greta. according to open secrets and 538, 14 billion has been spent, including the president ial race, almost twice as much as spent in 2016. Half of that was on the rest on and houser, governor, races. In North Carolina, colin campbell, a reporter, tweets out that North Carolinas totals are complete for a lot of the smaller counties, but 85 of the precincts have not been recorded, and republican leaning counties have not reported anything, so we are still waiting on the state of North Carolina. Georgia,al reporter in republicans are still antsy. Margins inuilt up rural georgia and voterich Forsyth County is still not in, but the heaviest hitting democratic counties are mostly out. The cushion is not big enough in the state of georgia. And then jeremy out of arizona, a political reporter there, emma are leading in all countywide races in maricopa democrats are leading in all of the countywide races in maricopa. Senate be watching that race between Martha Mcsally and mark kelly but also the president ial race. Calling in from colorado on our independent line, ray, what do you think about your new senator, John Hickenlooper . Know, i followed him for a little bit, because i was in pensacola, florida, a few years ago. He was governor when i moved in. I am familiar with all of the whether for, hickenlooper or antihickenlooper. I think there was so much attention centered around that. It did not seem like a surprise to me. Bluelorado has really gone over the last president ial cycles. As you can see from this Electoral College map, it was declared for Vice President biden pretty early in the cycle, and this is where it stands right now, Vice President biden electoral votes. You can see the states there that have been projected for each candidate. So, ray, what are the issues that are important to you . Well, i think the default in aurora and the rest of the country would be covid19 right now. Me, personally, the police force, the militarization of the police, qualified immunity. That is a big one. A in aurora, especially after elijah mcclain. , and for me, personally, the top issue is immigration. It is an issue that is near and dear to me. And in which way is it near and dear to you . I am a natural born citizen, both of my parents , and theye immigrants became naturalized citizens over time. Believe that people who are in the country unauthorized at this point should have a path to citizenship . The opportunity is there, it should definitely be there. Excuse in the broader me. In the broader perspective, i am particular person with a quote that want that kind of grabbed me was her expressing her views on openration, and she said the borders or give back the statue of liberty. Your timeou, ray, for this evening, and the time we checked in with greta, some of the results she will share with us includes an update on the Susan Collins race and the wendy davis congressional race in austin, texas. On ourchita, kansas, support for Vice President biden line. Hi, morgan. Fine, peter. How are you . Peter good. It has been declared for President Trump. What is happening in your senate race . I have no idea. I think i have just been studying all day, so i am wrapped up in my own world. Computer science. Peter ok. So you have turned on cspan this evening. When did you vote, and how did you vote . Think, id by mail i dont know, two weeks ago, two or three weeks ago. Peter did you get any kind of email receipt that said, hey, we have accepted your ballot . No, honestly, i did not even check, but i am sure it went through. I do not really have any doubt. Peter ok, morgan, what are the issues that are important to you . There are two see tiers of justification as to why i voted for biden. The primary reason was obviously to vote against the current president , but the secondary singular on just a issue, and i never thought i would be a singleissue voter, and i am not sure if this is spoken very much in the public sphere, but the bureau of labor statistics did a study on the price of College Tuition fees from the year 1997 until this risen, if youas could guess, what percentage would you postulate . Peter i would say 67 . 170. 170. So a College Education i am 22. I do not know very much, but i believe College Education is an arbiter, a ticket to the road to entry into the middle class, and i mean about two thirds of our population, they do not have a college degree, and i think that is not a sustainable problem for the next 50 years or 100 years, so Higher Education in the is acting like sort of a 21stcentury caste system. Peter that issue of concern to you, do you put the blame on President Trump for the rise of College Costs . Oh, of course not. This is a problem, i think, of free markets turning into i mean, i am not sure exactly. I do not know what happened. That think it is a problem capitalism and philanthropy, for that matter i hope someone who is blue, a blue executive branch, can address this issue. But i do not think there is a singular kind of causal factor to this, but that is my issue. Barriers to entry to getting a College Education. Peter morgan, we really appreciate your calling in. Lets check back in with greta. Greta lets go to the states we were talking about, that you were talking about, with viewers. We will begin with arizona. Take a look at the president ial race right now, where it stands, arizona, 6 reporting, former Vice President joe biden with 53. 7 percent compared to President Trumps 40 5 . Now, it is still very early with only 6 reporting. Kelly, the come mark former astronaut, challenging senator Martha Mcsally to finish out the term of the late senator john mccain, and he has a lead, that state. In and then lets look at mena. You asked to look at the state of maine prince Susan Collins, 57 point 1 . The state house speaker, sarah gideon, 36. 7 . Sara gideon, 36. Chip roy serving his first term being challenged by wendy davis. Is a familiar name to political junkies. She served in the state senate and held that filibuster for 13 hours back in 2013 over antiabortion legislation. She ran for governor in 2014. This is a tight race, 50 reporting. 68 reporting. Kai, from california, in our support President Trump line. Hi, how are you tonight . Peter what made you call in . Well, i am in california, known as liberal and crazy, but there are some of us here who are really trumped supporters, and we are ready for President Trump to continue if you are continue four more years to continue to make america great. Peter in the news, there were several trump car parades and boat parades out in california. Did you participate in any lyrical activities in this 2020 election . I did not, unfortunately, this year, but i have quite a few friends and family members who got involved, and gratefully, my job was not affected by covid, so i have been working throughout all of covid here in california, and it is wonderful to see trump just be out here, and i saw i did have a friend who watched newport beach, and he was out there in orange county, and it was wonderful to see. Peter and are you seeing any signs for the president , for the Republican Party Going Forward . Yes, i do, i do. There is a house with a huge trump sign on the roof. It has got to be at least five feet by five feet. It is huge. And we have got trucks out here that are doing the whole thin blue line, and the trump flag, and we are proud out here, even though we are silent and little, but we are mighty in number. Ontario, california, and this is emily from Corpus Christi, texas, and our support biden line. Are you surprised right now . I am surprised how close it is, especially given that texas has voted red. Peter have you been flipping back to a local channel to get the local results . Not really, no. Peter ok, all right. So what do you want to talk about tonight . Why did you call in . Howard, andporting while his political views are similar to mine, i thought it was important to use biden towards a transition candidate to go towards the left more. Peter and howard is with the green, correct . Correct. Peter what are the issues that are important to you in Corpus Christi . Being very young age, i would say that health care is very important to me, and with trumps threats to overturn the Affordable Care act, that is scary. With a high socioeconomic status, i know my friends who are not do not have that same assurance with having health care. Peter and the green party has. 2 of the national vote. Frank, valley stream, new york, what do you want to talk about . Hi, frank. Biden, and ilike do not care too much for trump. Supported jo jordgensen of the Libertarian Party . About 1. 1 . I had some discussions with and we went right with the Libertarian Party. Peter and what are the issues . Muchdo not really care too. He has been in politics, what, 40 something years, and i really do not like trump that much either and i do not see of them pushing the environment as much as i would like them to. In valleyt is frank stream, new york. This is chris, in new york city, support joe biden line. Hi, chris. Chris hi, thanks for having me. Want to talko you about . Chris i want to talk about the excited potential with donald trump as president. A nightmare. Peter what makes it a nightmare in your view . Chris i am only in my early 30s, but i grew up my entire life being a lifelong republican, and i really value the values of the Republican Party that i grew up with, and trump has pretty much turned those over on the head. He has been uniquely divisive as especially, and being proudly from a blue state, i really am troubled by not only his ability to not tell the divisivenessnstant and how he has made that his chief political strategy. Ford a lot of respect president obama. I voted for john mccain. I voted for mitt romney. 2016, i voted for Hillary Clinton, because i felt that was the only honorable thing to do, and, you know, i think that is the case for joe biden this time around, as well. Peter what do you do in new york city . Are you still in the city, or have you fled . Chris i am still in the city and it not going anywhere. I am attorney. Peter are you out on the street or going to an office, the courts . What is your life like . Chris i will not be going to court anytime pretty much, but i work from home. I go to my office. But the report that President Trump has set about the city being a ghost town or being dead , they are completely inaccurate. There are plenty in the city, and we are committed to keeping the city the vibrant cultural and economic engine that it is. And the only way that we are going to do that is if we have support from the federal government, and i think the only way that is going to happen is if joe biden is president. Peter thank you for your time this evening. Dan, columbus, ohio, on our support President Trump line. Dan, how did you cast your vote . Dan i went to the polls early. Peter by that, last week . Dan about 1. 5 weeks ago. Peter how was the process . Dan it was not a boring two hours. We are conversational people, so we were talking. Twoouras about a process. It was not a long two hours. A lot of people went to vote today and said it was a snap because over 100 Million People had already voted across the country. Dan right, right. I did not see the polls today. I did not go by. Where we normally would go is actually right across the street from my house. People there today. Peter that said, why are you a supporter of President Trump . He has done a great job in keeping with what he said he was going to do. He has created jobs, helped create jobs. He has done a lot for the military and the veterans, and he just did what he said he was going to do. He is an american president to me. He truly puts america first. And that is what he stands for, and that is what he believes in. I am also a christian. I believe in our lord, jesus christ, and he put the American Embassy back in jerusalem, and that was huge for me. That was a huge thing for me when he did that. He is prolife. You know, i am prolife. He just has the same values that i believe in. Peter is he going to win ohio . Dan oh, absolutely, he is going to win ohio. I travel the state, and a lot of the rural areas, i saw trumppentz signs. Trumppence signs. There signs were everywhere we went. In ohio. That was columbus, and greta is at the news desk. If you will take care of people, they will take care of you. And, richard, we take care of people. We treat every constituent like a customer. The constituent service in this state is second to none. We give you an answer. It is maybe not the answer you what sometimes, but we try to give you a good, honest answer, and we go to bat for you, and we work hard, so all i can say is this has been overwhelming. I have never been challenged like this, and i have never had more support than i do tonight. There are people all over this country who came to my aid. There are people who had never given . 15 who gave me what they could. Me 30. s mother sent peter that entire speech will be available at cspan. Org elections. Jonesre is senator doug conceding. Senator jones over the last years, it is more than just one senate race. It is more. It has never been about doug jones or the jones family. This has always been about eight state. A state that we all love. A state that we care about. A state that has gone through massive changes over the years, and we are in the process of going through those again. We have seen so many Different Things that have happened over the last few years. We have seen so many good things and positive things, but at the end of the day, alabama is still a work in progress. We know that. Alabama still ranks low in education. We still rank high in unhealthy outcomes. We still rank in a place that we want to make sure we can do better. Those are the things that we are going to continue to work on. Those are the things that you have been working on with me for the last three years, and for that, everybody in alabama ought to be appreciative. I know i am. I know that there are folks in washington, d. C. , that are, because as we go forward, we are not going to stop, because one of the things that we all know, when we came up and started coming out, and became out of last year with one alabama, we meant it. We were all in this together. We were doing everything to make sure that every man, woman, and child in alabama has an equal opportunity, are treated equally, with dignity and respect, to make sure they have the opportunities for a job and a better education. Those are the things that we have been talking about. Those are the things that you have been talking about, and those of the things we will continue. I am very proud of all that has happened in the last three years. At the end of the day, my time in the senate is going to be over, but our time is just beginning. Our time to make our state so much better than what it has been, to make sure that we continue the march of progress, because at the end of the day, that is where we are. You know, we can talk a lot tonight about all of those things that we have accomplished in the last three years, and there is a lot. There is a lot that the people of alabama do not even know about yet, because what we have been able to do peter and the rest of doug joness speech can be watched online at cspan. Org. Nancy pelosi is live pd Speaker Pelosi the mobilization at the nancy pelosievel is live. Speaker pelosi the mobilization at the Grassroots Level is a lot. All, she retained and commanded the respect of the house members and the confidence of all of our candidates, so with that, i want to acknowledge illinois. Madam chair, i yield to you. It was an honor. Thank you. Alright, Speaker Pelosi, thank you for your kind words, and, obviously, your leadership of this caucus has been absolutely amazing. I am joining you from illinois in my hometown. People here, they take america literally, and they work hard and take care of each other. Offer to bring over a meal to them, or you offer to look after their kids. It was in 2018 the democrats got back the house, reaching out to people by listening to them, and here is what people in those towns in the center of america into thewhat we took 2020 election, and that is that they want the government to work for them. They want more progress. Corruptionn end to and the power of special interest, and they want health care, period. They want to stop worrying about it. They want to know if a family has recovered, and they know in what democrats kept pointing out. Every time republicans have had the opportunity to strip away the healthcare protections of hardworking americans, republicans have done that. That is a fact. And no matter whether youre a mom suffering from cancer, a dad who survived a heart attack, a young kid struggling with avenues mike, republicans struggling with asthma, republicans will not rest until they make sure you cannot afford your health care. Stopped talking about health care, and now with the polls closing in the u. S. , you can protect what the American People have once again determined needs to be protected, especially during a pandemic. They want the party of health care to represent them, the Democratic Party. Want againstthey the recklessness of washington republicans, and it is an awesome responsibility, but the American People have put the right party in charge of their house. Costsrescription drug through the roof, House Democrats passed the Elijah Cummings act. Donald trumps washington, House Democrats passed the most comprehensive anticorruption legislation in a generation. And with a need to jumpstart our economy and rebuild our nation while we raise wages, House Democrats passed the moving forward at. House democrats have never stopped working for the people, and with the deadly pandemic taking close to one quarter of american one quarter of a million american lives, House Democrats are up to a challenge we face tomorrow and for many years to come. That is what people here in moline expect from us and deserve from us. They want us to live by the same values that people here teach their kids, decency, respect, hardware, and an appreciation of folks he may not look like you or your family. These are the values that represent our best selves, both as a party and as a country. When we remember that, when we remember the people in places like moline, we win. The whole country wins. So lets be grateful for the opportunity placed before us tonight, but lets also be humble. There are millions of ballots left to count, and so much damage left for us to undo. The america we all believe in is in our grasp now. It is right in front of us, right outside our front door. Speaker pelosi, thank you for your leadership, for never losing sight on how best to use your awesome power as speaker, for families, for children, and for a better future. It really is an incredible honor to be able to serve alongside you. Thank you all, and good night. Speaker pelosi thank you, madam chair, and it is my honor to serve with you, and we openly have the honor with our dynamic caucus. The most in the history of any country, including our own. So now, we will proceed to prepare for the transition. We will talk about what we have talked about all along, as madam chair referenced. For the people, we will Lower Health Care costs by lowering the cost of prescription drugs and protecting preexisting conditions as well as other things republicans continue to work against in the court, the Supreme Court of the United States. Will increase paychecks by building the infrastructure of america in a resilient way, creating jobs and opportunity not only for jobs for equity, for ownership, of companies that participate in all of that, with workforce development, educationally to train young people on how to not only aspire to that profession but perhaps some ownership. People, we will talk about cleaner government. Floorl pass that on the of the house on the very first day of the new congress. Madam chair referenced Elijah Cummings. Our bill to lower the cost of three, ption drugs, hr and to have the secretary of hhs to negotiate lower prices. 1 johnto reference in hr lewis and the Voter Suppression legislation that is so important and that is so needed. So, madam chair, as you have votested, not until every is counted, and there are plenty of votes to count. We have not even started with my state, california, and the whole west coast. I look forward to coming together in our democratic majority in the congress of the United States. That success would not be possible without your leadership. Thank you, madam chair. Thank you all. Good night. Thisce President Biden evening or anyone on the campaign . Peter and that was nancy pelosi here at the capital. Here is the updated electoral map as called by Associated Press. It comes to electoral blue foru can see the biden and the red for trump. 209 to 118. Checking the news and checking the results, greta. Outgoing senator doug jones, the democrat who won that seat in a special election back in 2017. Tommy tupper ville, the republican who ousted him tonight, sending out a tweet, thank you, alabama. We got the seatback. Tuberville, the republican who ousted him tonight, sending out a tweet, thank you, alabama. We got the seat back. And in iowa, theresa greenfield setting out this tweet. I have not taken one second of this campaign for granted. Thank you for everyone who has shown up and spoken out and made their voices heard. I am in this fight for you. She says she has not taken one second for granted. She has also outraised joni ernst, the company republican, and 90 of the money coming from out of state. So lets take a look at the state of iowa and where things stand in the president ial race first. Lets see. 48 reporting or 38 reporting. To biden up 52. 2 percent President Trump, 46. 1 . In that senate race there, between joni ernst and theresa greenfield, theresa greenfield with a slight lead right now. She is up less than a couple of points in the state of iowa. Theresa greenfield trying to oust joni ernst, who was the first woman elected statewide in iowa. And then, finally, taking a look at the state of alabama and how that senate race ended up, the actual results with tommy to ville,l tommy tuber 36. 7 . O peter and that is the in the senate we have seen lost tonight. Thank you for holding. What would you like to talk about tonight . Thanks for having me on. It is interesting, certainly an exciting evening so far. We are going to see what happens as a country together, whether everyone is happy or very upset for a number of years to come about that. The collars a few calls back said just like me, in 30s, living in new york, i have countless, countless businesses, stores not only boarded up, expecting riots, things like that, just from happening again, i think regardless of who wins. Some things might happen from the same people, regardless. But the reason i wanted to call in is my entire life, i have been a supporter of the Democratic Party, since i was old enough to vote. I worked on the edwards campaign. My feelings on that and many issues have changed, and my feelings towards individuals have changed over the years. I support education. I support immigration. I work in Higher Education. I work in Renewable Energy. I support access for health care. Across, democratic principles, infrastructure and quality are very important. At the end of the day, on the international stage, america as a global leader, as the global leader, i think it is very important to regaining our position there, supporting israel as our ally in the middle east, if you want true democracy. Henry, that is a lot of issues, and if you handed your resume to somebody, they would probably say democrat. Henry exactly. And there are democrats for trump on facebook. And yet peter physically being a trump supporter in brooklyn. Henry i am in the jewish community. Day, wee end of the very much appreciate and recognize the extreme support the president has shown for israel, as well as for standing up for the businesses that are being crippled under some of these democratic legislative sanctions that are being imposed just eyeing zones, where they feel like putting sanctions. Perspective,m your henry, what was the significance of moving the u. S. Embassy to jerusalem . Henry so being able to recognize a country as a sovereign nation and being able to identify their own capital, jerusalem is the internal capital of israel. There is no discussion of that. People have been saying that for more than 2000 years. So for america to not have the embassy there, not have passports, to not have israel on it, it was an important statement. He showed that support. Look how many countries in the arab world have come on with that support, as well. There are the peace agreements there. The accord is an incredible feat, and i do not think that is anything to make little of. At the end of the day, there are certainly many issues that many people can come together, but the reason i called in specifically is people were talking about how the president may not have done enough throughout the pandemic, but a lot of that, including stimulus, has been held up by the house. We pass this and get a ton of support, it will be hard to defeat the guy. Peter were going to have to leave it there. Delaware, wilmington, youre calling in on our independent line. Myra. My name is peter so sorry. Myra i did vote for biden. I wasnt independent when registering for voting. , and i did vote for him. He is the one representing the Democratic Party. Peter who would you like to democratics the nominee . Maybe andrew. Peter all right, thanks, mira. And i apologize for mispronouncing your name. A reminder to our viewers, if youre on your cell phone, do not use your speakerphone. It makes it distorted. Just hold it up to your ear the oldfashioned way. California, our support President Trump line. Military calling in . All right. So what did you want to talk about tonight, william . Well, i am sitting here watching all of the channels, including yours, and watching the map. I was a bit puzzled, because the polls closed at 8 00, and a 12 minutes past 8 00, it turned to a blue state, and nancy pelosi said not too long ago, not to count it yet, and i am just wondering how california automatically turned to a blue state without the votes being counted was to mark that is kind of a red flag in my opinion. Being counted . That is kind of a red flag in my opinion. Peter what is it like being a trump supporter in california . It is great. Like a couple of callers ago, i used to be a democrat until in my opinion so much corruption started, and california is rocking and rolling when it comes to the american values. , and i little puzzled got upset that it turned blue that quick without even having the votes counted, in my opinion. Peter all right. Greta, what do you have for us . Greta called the president ial reporting, the former Vice President in the 6 in minnesota to trump 42. 4 . Senate, serving the remainder of a prior term, leading by 10 points right now, 46 reporting, tina smith, over republican jason smith, and in a couple of house races that folks are watching closely, this is in minnesota, a Congressional District rematch from 2018. The republican representative against the democrat, war and you canfeehan, see a tight race this time around, but the incumbent in a lead with 45 reporting. The other race we are watching is Collin Peterson vying for his 16th term in the house. He is trailing the former lieutenant governor, michelle chbach. K michelle fis lorraine is on the support president Vice President biden line. Can you hear me . Peter i cant. Ok. Ok. How we it is so weird can have differences in how we see things different, and we have different views, but people calling and saying they are christians and this and that, but the scripture also say in the latter days, which these are the latter days, it says people will diverge from truth, and what is wrong will be right, and it says god has to rule your country, and if not, it will fall. Soking about 9 11, which is sad, but this coronavirus has 9 11s, like itr is normal. This time, talk about has becomeo America Peter lorraine, i am not sure where youre going. Im going to leave it there. Statempshire, doug, your has not been called yet for the president. How did you vote . Doug i voted independent. To i wasd wondering why the southern was thinking a former kkk member for his when lindseyan graham brought up Strom Thurmond . Yes, what is going on there . That is kind of farfetched, it is ridiculous. Peter this is shane in battleground washington on our support Vice President biden line. Shane, where are you . Northeast of vancouver, a small town. And i thought in a million years, i would never call in, but peter what prompted it tonight . Hearing all of these people talking about how trump is making america great. We have a real issue here. We have the highest number of ,omeless people on the streets and my other half is a nurse, and she risks her life every day , and she says the government has ash and they say the government has helped us, and they have not. And they say the government has helped us, and they have not. We have to start helping the American People. The stimulus. People keep saying it is the democrats that are doing it. No, it is not. It is both of them. There are kids on the street now. We are helping people survive and eat, when people are trying to survive. If you want to make america great. Start helping the American People put who cares about israel . This aint about religion. This is about helping everybody. Peter that is shane in battleground, washington. Reminder, we are showing you all of the victory and concession speech is coming in this evening. There will be more throughout the evening and all of that, along with everything we have done tonight and throughout this election season is available on our website. All the speeches, all the results, all the primaries, etc. Etc. Cspan. Org election. A great resource for the entire 2020 election cycle. Politicalylor of cook report has been with us all night. Ms. Taylor you have got an update, for the gubernatorial races. Well, you have the Arizona Senate race that i believe fox news has called for mark kelly over Martha Mcsally there. I had to turn away so i am not sure if the ap had called it. That would mark the second pickup for democrats to get them to a net one. A but, they have lost alabama have gained colorado and arizona. So that moves them a little bit closer. They still need two more to get to 50 50. And we are also watching North Carolina, from what im hearing from my republican sources, they are feeling very good about. This is a pretty major departure from, weve talked before about thom tillis there had been trailing pretty substantial heading into the final month. Then we had Cal Cunningham who got into a sexting scandal and admitted to an affair. But really even republicans have ive talked to in the final few days they did not think that tillis was going to be able to come back. Outperforming the republican there. From a standpoint of the way we expected some of these races to go, both republicans and democrats did. Tillis hangs on that would be considered an upset. That means that elsewhere democrats needs to find other seats. Not getting a lot of results in from maine. Iowa senate race we are getting about the half vote total in. Still incredibly close. Peter to give Cook Political Report some props here, you called the gardner race and you had thom tillis as a tossup. Are you surprised by market make sallys race looking like it is quite a margin . Moved arizona to lean democrat. Remember Martha Mcsally was never elected to begin with. In fact, she just lost a race two years ago to kyrsten sinema. She was appointed to the seat. The late senator john mccains seat, he had been temporarily fill it. And then the governor there appointed mick sally. Mcsally. After you have just lost a race you have very high negatives against you, typically with senators they have sixyear term so if they have brutal elections sometimes heal wounds. Mcsally did not have that luxury and mark kelly was one of the democrats best recruits. He raised far more money than mcsally, even though she was raising a ton as well. He is a former astronaut. Also the husband a gabrielle giffords, which as we remember was shot and nearly killed in 2001 where a number of other people into your son were in tucson were killed. It is probably a bittersweet moment for his family. Before Gifford Stauffer that that traumatic brain injury and she was expected to be a senator and even higher one day. They have done a lot of work on gun control and now takes that to United States senate. Peter Jessica Taylor, you had Lindsey Graham as a tossup. Looks like he won by 10 points. Thinka this, i republicans are surprised by that margin because i had the republicans telling me in the closing days that they were feeling a little bit better about it, but not by this much. It begins to show that money is not everything in some of these republican states with harrison bring in a lot of money and amy mcgrath did in kentucky as well. So, not enough to swing these things. We are seeing some of these Senate Results hugh pretty closely to the president ial results which is a trend that we saw in 2016 with every single senate race, and end up going the same way as the president ial results in that state. So, i think that is something that just both, that senator graham had going for him, and it was too much of a hill to climb for harrison. Peter and, when you look at the president ial results currently in arizona, they do track with mcsally kelly and races. So, Jessica Taylor, we will check back in with you a little bit later. Missouri. Go ahead, vic. Caller hey, how you doing . Im actually a trump supporter. I called in on the independent line because i could not get on in any other line. Peter you have 15 seconds to tell us why you support President Trump. Caller i support President Trump because he supports the military. And he has done great things for our economy. And everybody that says that President Trump is not listening to the science about covid is incorrect. President trump listened to the the world health organization. President trump listened to the cdc. And then he listened to the dr. Fauci. All of them screwed it up. Peter we are going to leave it there. Jamie harrison was the democratic challenger in the South Carolina senate race. Here was his concession speech. May be it is on the others, too. There you go. There we go. [laughs] cant tell you how good it is to see all of you. It has been far too long. I have missed all of you. So, thank you. Thank you for being here. Thank you for being my family. Hope. While i breathe, i while i breathe, i hope. Folks, im still breathing. And i still have hope. You know, our state motto rings true, even on a day like today. We did something incredible here in South Carolina. Public office is not a lifetime job, and the people are willing to hold our leaders accountable. We proved that there is no such thing as red and blue states. Moremerican people are far complex than colors on a map. We proved that new south is rising. Night only slowed us down. But a new south with leaders who reflect the community and serve the interests of everyone will be here soon enough. Id like to congratulate senator graham on a hardfought campaign, and a long career in congress. You know, senator graham and i may have our differences but i hope he will maintain this. Of cooperation he is known for a while we take a step forward in creating a new south that is so possible. I would like to thank my wife, marie and our son. [applause] anybody with young kids knows its a little late right now in school is tomorrow. So, marie stayed home with the boys. She so wanted to be here with all of you. They did more than just support this campaign. They lifted me up. You know, when we started the campaign way back in the spring of 2019, it was a different world. We did not even have when we started this campaign. And with all of the uncertainty of the past several months, i spent a lot of time focused on my family. I remember that this election was the best possible way i could protect them. By fighting for leadership that serves everyone and builds toward a brighter future. I want to thank all of my family. My parents, patricia and rodney. My sister ashley. My in laws. Andmy legion of aunts uncles and cousins. And my grandparents, who to me bookie. Bookie and mr. You know, they helped raise me, and they taught me that politics are important, but it is character that really matters. [applause] friends here in South Carolina and around the country. Thank you for lifting me up. Thanks for making me who i am today. And, of course, id like to thank my team. Team j. [applause] i love you guys. I love you so much. Y campaign chair, to jack my Campaign Manager and all of my amazing staff. I love you guys. And, of course, the staff and the South Carolina Democratic Party. My brother in arms robertson. Jay, the executive director. Crystal spain, the director of our coordinating campaign. The Deputy Director and of course i cannot leave out my brother. Entire staff of the South Carolina Democratic Party and coordinated campaign and to all of the volunteers, thank you, thank you, thank you. You know, always said to do the impossible, we needed to build the avengers and that is exactly what we did. You can all hold their heads up high, because you beat all of the odds. And i would not be here without the man that was standing up here before me. My political father majority whip jim clark. Hecall him the boss, but always made sure we knew the real bosses were the citizens of this great state South Carolina. I cant thank him and his late wife emily for showing me the true danger of what the true nature of what Public Service is all about. And most importantly, most important want to thank the people of South Carolina. When we started this Campaign People say a democrat did not have a chance of the state. They told me when he was a long shot. But thanks to you, we grew from a small group sitting around my dinner table to a powerful movement stretching to every corner of the state of South Carolina. [applause] froms to you folks Anderson County to from york to beaufort to my hometown of orangeburg, and everywhere in between, folks are hopeful that change is possible. We didnt get the result we wanted to date, but my friends, today is not where our story end. As we traveled the state, we learned a lot about Rural Community suffering from too much neglect and not enough hope. We knew that something desperately needed to change. So we proposed our rural hope agenda. Ed democratic talking points and republican and it focuses on doing what is right. We have put together a blueprint that has revitalizes Rural Communities by addressing what they care about most health care, the economy, infrastructure and we added a farmers bill of rights. We are not playing partisan games. We are trying to remove barriers that stand between many south carolinians and success. Because we are all connected to rural america, the food on our table, the clothing on our back, the cars that we drive. Haveve these things, we these things thanks to the hard and backbreaking work of folks in rural towns across this nation. But right now, my friends, but right now our brothers and our sisters in our agriculture and manufacturing towns are facing tough times. This isnt new. They have seen tough times before, and they have proven themselves tougher. But the pandemic isnt just slowingth them down. We have proven we can provide meaningful support to these communities and my friends, we are not going to leave anyone behind. Were going to rebuild the path to the middle class so the only thing that limits how far our children can go is their deams. We are going to invest in Public Schools and colleges. Toare going to expand access broadband because 20 years into the 21st century, the internet should be in every home of the richest country on the face of this planet. [applause] we will do this, and so much more. And we will do it together. We welcome anyone willing to help write the story of the new south, regardless of whom they voted for this year and any other election. Dr. King said if you cannot find cannot walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward. My friends, we are going to keep moving forward. Because that is the spirit of our country. That spirit lifted our campaign up higher than we thought possible. That spirit drove the revolution in black lives that spirit will get us to Everything Else that comes our way. We are strong. We are resourceful. We are brave. We are south carolinians. South will build a new together. While we breathe, we hope, my friends. While we breathe, we hope. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and god bless each and everyone of you. [applause] thank you. Thank you, folks. I love you guys. Peter and that was the democratic nominee for senate in South Carolina Jaime Harrison and as you can see by these results senator Lindsey Graham has won reelection, 67 of the vote in Lindsey Graham, 60 6 , Jaime Harrison at 42 . Interesting fact that Jaime Harrison raised 100 million in of that 92 of that money came from out of state. 86 of Lindsey Grahams money came from out of state as well. Thats according to open secrets. Org. Greta has more updates for isint greta Jaime Harrison one of the candidates featured in an Associated Press article earlier this week. In the south a most black Senate Candidates ran since reconstruction. Lets take a look at the races here. Starting with the state of mississippi. Caller i was not. I am pessimistic living in a mostly red state. Peter why are you supporting Vice President biden . Caller originally i was a pretty supporter before this, but i guess biden became the status quo for most of the bernie supporters or anybody who did not originally support biden afterwards. Peter did you think about writing Bernie Sanders name in . Caller i debated super long and hard about that. I thought about it and thought about it but originally as jerry garcia says voted with the lesser people. Evils. G the lesser of which is an unfair description of biden i suppose,. Two old dudes we are voting for. Peter gabby in rapids wisconsin on our support President Trump line. How is it going . Caller hi. I just want to start this by saying God Bless America and god bless our right to vote here. I think that it is really good that we have the ability to vote and the right to vote, because i know no matter what media are social media says, the silent majority is a big part of this country, and, you know, i know a lot of people have the right to vote based on their christian view, whether you are republican or democrat. We both have our reasons as christians for voting that way. However, i do like the progress that trump has made. A lot of people dont like the but i think his actions show more with our military, with the farmers, with supporting u. S. Jobs here, with all the progress he has made. He has done a lot for black americans. Hes done a lot for latino americans. And i really feel like that is underreported what hes done. But it doesnt matter because i feel like the silent majority is speaking therir piece. Im hopeful for this election that it turns out that trump wins. Peter your state has not been called yet. Caller i know. Its nerveracking. Im shaking because im so, this is a nailbiter. I mean, this is really an election that i think a lot of people are paying attention to, whether you are older, whether you are younger, whether youre black, white, mexican, does not matter. I think everybody is paying attention, and i think that is really important. Thank god we all have the ability to write, and the right to vote and speak our mind and put out there how we believe, you know . Peter how and when did you vote . Caller i voted last week early. I went to city hall, and they gave us the option to vote in person. And i went and i voted, and let my voice speak, and i feel pretty proud of that. My husband voted today in person. Peter gabby in wisconsin, rapids, wisconsin. Governor roy cooper, democrat in North Carolina, has been reelected. Here is his victory speech. Good even, oper North Carolina. Good evening, North Carolina. First, before anything else, i have to thank my family, my amazing wife and the first ladies, christian cooper. Ourhave done so much and state is so lucky to have you as first lady. But im even luckier. And our daughters, hillary, e who areand clar behind me, you have inspired me to do more. Your mom and i love you and im so proud to be your dad. Im grateful to my brother and his family. And if our mom and dad were here with us, theyd be standing right here. Insetetead, they are smiling don on us. Everything, for especially for showing me what it means to love our state. The nation has focused on North Carolina. Its come down to counting the votes. Ofnow that there are a lot important races that are still too close to call, in me we must let the process work to be sure that all the legal votes are counted. The state board of elections has run things with the utmost integrity. During a Global Pandemic and tough races, and i believe that they will continue to do so. To the people of North Carolina, thank you so much for electing me as your governor for another four years. Serving in this office has been the honor of. My life im grateful and humbled to the people who trusted me to continue the progress we have already made here. I spent much of the last four years visiting communities, big and small, all around our state. And no matter where i was, i found the same thing north carolinians are resilient. We are creative. We are innovative. Cooperative. Inclusive. And we do not give up easily. Thats true for the Small Business owners in the mountains, the factory workers in the piedmont, and the farmers in the east. Heres wha tt i know. Campaign season is tough, especially this one. But north carolinians are tougher. They know how to do their duty and vote, and then get on with their lives. And thats good. Because, in order to move forward in the coming weeks, we have a hrd job ahead. And we have to get on with it. We have to work harder than ever to understand each others perspective, to strive to respect each other, even though our political beliefs may still be different. Then we need to come together as state and realize North Carolinas boundless potential. Now, a lot of people may be wondering how, how in the aftermath of this rough election, how in the middle of a racial pandemic, how with strife dividing many of our communities, how do we come together now . Thething i know, in aftermath of hurricane florence, dorian, and other disasters, we didnt let the question of how stop us. We just did it. We came together to do the hard now it is time to do the hard work of healing, because, North Carolinas deserve that. It is time that we focus on what we have in common, rather than on our differences. Regardless of our political wantfs, most all of us people to be healthy, to have a good paying job and to live in safe communities. Thatlue our shared freedom this great country has given us. Heal, we must focus on the priorities Affordable Health care, Public Schools that can thrive,Affordable Health care, c schools that can thrive. Clean air and water, no matter where you live. A reckoning of the systems that have excluded too many people a steadfast commitment to strong and safe communities. An economy that will come back stronger for everyone, not just those up the top those at the top. North carolinians have made their voices heard tonight, but the hard work of listening to all voices will be ongoing. So lets take the time to imagine what its like to be in each other shoes. Lets dedicate ourselves to really hearing one another. Lets take the time to see what not, and true, what is what is worthy of debate. Today, and for the next four years, i will work hard to be the governor of every single north carolinian. Continuedfor your trust in me. May god bless all of you. May god bless our country. And may god bless the great state of North Carolina. Thank you all very much. [applause] in a relatively close cooper, arnor roy democrat, has been reelected as governor of North Carolina. In, 51. 5 fore Governor Cooper opponent. We will continue to be here all night taking your calls, looking at the victory and concession speeches. We will start with the state of michigan, were senator gary peters, the democrat, had a challenger from the republican. John james for the state of michigan. In arizona, Martha Mcsally, putting up a challenge from r. Kelly. From mark kelly. Astronaut, challenging her for that seat. The remainderl up of the late john mccains seat. In colorado, John Hickenlooper out seats cory gardner, he will not get a second term. The governor is now senator in colorado. Winningtate of alabama, that stayed at 63. 4 to 33. 6 over the incumbent doug jones. Kansas, roger marshall, state, he winsan the state 52. 8 to 42 . That is republican. Cornyns, senator john declared the winner. He wins with nearly a 10 victory there. Ap calling us with 76 reporting. Is calling in from chicago. Welcome to cspan. Peter heather, we appreciate you taking the time to call us. Ben in washington. What is your political viewpoint, and how is the night going for you . My political viewpoint is i voted independent because i think there is a power monopoly between democrats and republicans that are tearing this country apart. Peter who did you vote for . Caller i voted for jo jorgensen. Peter for the libertarian. Im sorry i will leave it there. We are going to maine. Susan collins is speaking to supporters. But let me take this opportunity to again express my heartfelt appreciation to the people of maine, to all the volunteers who have worked so hard for me. To both my Campaign Staff and also my federal staff. I have the best staff in the world. [cheers] and of course, most of all, to my family. They have been with me every step of the way. [cheers] and some of them are in their rooms now, but they are still watching. But my husband, i could never have done this without him. My brothers are all here tonight. My sisters inlaws, a lot of my andes and nephews, everybody who played such a role. Josh and betsy earlier who were leaders to my campaign. But i am just so grateful to all of you. Honor to represent the great state of maine. I fight hard for the people of maine each and every day. Crossed, ful, fingers that i will be able to do that for six more years. [cheers] much. You so thank you. Thank you so much. I so appreciate your help. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. [chanting susan] we are still having fun we are still the one collins we will keep watching the returns. Thank you. You are still the one still the one my better half we are still having fun and youre still the one peter that was Susan Collins in bangor maine while she did click while she did not declare victory, she is ahead. Percent reporting. Susan collins at 52 . Sarah gideon, the speaker of the house in maine at 42 . Greta has background on this race. Greta kevin miller who writes for the Portland Press herald sent out a tweet around 11 30. He says as we hit this mark, collins lead is sizable, but is shrinking as more leftleaning coastal towns report. 5830. 36 at 1030 six. At 10 30. Now its 5242. The key is can either candidate get over 50 to avoid the ringtown voting recalculation . That means your first choice, second choice and third choice. If he goes down to second choice, it will depend on what voters put as their second choice as to who will win this race up in the state of maine. , who writes for the Arizona Republic sent this out at 11 30. He said fox news called the Arizona Senate race. Ap i dont think has yet for mark. If his lead over market Martha Mcsally holds, it will be the First Time Since 1952, when Barry Goldwater ousted Ernest Mcfarland to win his first term, that dems hold oath of Arizonas Senate seats. Peter back to your calls, voices and views. Housatonic, massachusetts on our support President Trump line. How is the night going for you . Caller its going pretty well for me. Ive been watching. I just turned cspan on. I have been a big from supporter and a bit a big trump supporter and a big republican all my life. I like what trump is doing for this country. Asefully we wont have biden our next president , but if we do, the country will be a disaster. Back ine have trump there for four more years, it a blessing to this country, a blessing to me. Peter is it lonely being a trump supporter in massachusetts . Yes, its kind of lonely being a trump supporter in mostchusetts because, massachusetts is democrat, but governor bakers republican, as you know. Peter and he announced that he did not vote for President Trump. Caller i am surprised he did not vote for trump because he is a republican governor. But i voted for trump today. I went down and voted for trump. Trump reminds me of another president , president Ronald Reagan. He is doing an excellent job. As you know, reagan did an excellent job when he was president. Rump has gone back up to topnotch. Our last president , president barack obama did not even lift a hand to spend money on the ,ilitary, which is sad because got for bid the United States should go to war. But we hope it wont, have to be prepared for these things. Chris, in massachusetts, thanks for your time this evening. In texas, where the president is currently maintaining a bout about a five point lead, senator john cornyn has been declared the victor, and hear hi here is his speech. Cornyn personalities coming go. Only our characters is a great state and nation indoors. Im so happy to share this moment with my wife who has been at my side since i first ran for district judge in san antonio a long time ago. And our two daughters, too strong texas women have always been a point of inspiration and pride for me. I want to thank every texan across the great state who cast their ballot. His is a historic election for reasons. Oned whether i earned your vote or whether you are pulling for my opponent, i am honored to serving and representing all texans. Goal is your United States senator is your United States senators simple. Continue to make texas a place of exceptional opportunity for all. In the next six years i look visits, ourur celebrations, and working together to overcome whatever challenges may come our way. Andrations of texans americans have fought for the freedom to make our own choices. I am honored to serve in the Sam Houston Senate seat. He believed that what was good for texas was good for america. And i think he was right. Entrepreneurs, cowboys and astronauts. Are working parents, students, teachers and immigrants. Whatever hat we wear, we often find that despite our differences we are united by our core values. These are the tenants that have made texas our nation so successful. What got me as i work hard to serve 29 million texans. Its a fight for the soul of our nation and our state. Serving as your United States senator has been a privilege of my lifetime. We have accomplished a lot together, but we have more to do. , wee we may be separated must also now be united. But together, we will get down the road and we will work hard to make sure our state continues to be the test place in the world to live, work and raise a family. You, and, god bless may god continue to bless the great state of texas. Thank you very much, senator. At this time we will take a few questions from the media. From the texas tribune, you are welcome to ask any questions. Senator, the president tonight in texas is in a closer race that wont be called as early as yours was. How important was it for you to create an independent brand and terms of running on that statewide ticket . Patrick, im proud of the work we have been able to do, working together with President Trump. Confirming 221 judges in texas alone in the most recent Supreme Court nominee, amy coney barrett. Im proud of the work we have done together on the tax cuts taxes,s act to reduce the tax burden for hardworking families. In the work we have done to cut red tape, which has strangled a lot of our businesses. So i know while people are focused on maybe theyre different personalities, i am proud to work with this president. When i disagree with him, as youve heard, i prefer to do that in private. He is accessible, he listens, and i have been able to move the needle with him, and sometimes get him to see things my way. The president is not from texas. I have been on the ballot a number of times. And as i said to 100 Community Leaders in south texas in the rio grande valley, who are selfprofessed democrats, they support me because they know me and they trust me. And then transitions to any kind of politics. I think theyll has a lot to do with our showing here tonight. Thank you, senator. Question, in fact i will pause for a moment to remind everyone if you like to ask the senator a question, these do so by submitted it to the chat here on our zoom. The next question i would like to get the opportunity is from bob. I think you are muted, bob. How about now . Congratulations. What pleases you the most intensive or performance as you look around the map of texas . Sen. Cornyn say that again. Now can you hear me . Most as you you the look around the state at your performance tonight . Sen. Cornyn i have been on the ballot before, bob. One of the challenges when you run every six years is you are not necessarily a household name. One of the things that i have weost pleased with is did our advertising, we focused on some important, but may be rather small accomplishments. Things like antiHuman Trafficking legislation, fighting their rape kit backlog and things of that nature. Being on cable tv on a nightly basis, but these are some things i felt like have made a difference in the lives of regular texans. The thing i am proud of is the work we did to enhance the background check system for the purchase of firearms. In the wake of sutherland springs. I believe in the legislation that i worked on with chris murphy, one of the most liberal members of the senate from connecticut, who has very different views on the Second Amendment than i do, that we were able to work out and find Common Ground to improve the background check system, which already has accounted for, i think its about 6000 additional entries on the background check system. Know, these, as you air force and the United States government had not uploaded the convictions and dishonorable discharges. While people focus on things like the Supreme Court, which a privilege work on to be a part of the Supreme Court confirmations, putting amy coney barrett. Significante most profile we get to do as a senator. A lot of it is singles and doubles. Through our paid advertising we were able to get that message out. I think people saw me as a problem solver, which is the way i liked to regard myself. I get the greatest satisfaction in trying to find hard problems that people have not been able reason orfor one another, and be able to build that consensus and make it product and make some progress. Frome next question comes christian flores. Go ahead with your question. In some of your recent ads you really touted bipartisan efforts. You also showed your support for preexisting conditions. Worthies int capturing the moderates, the undecided voters and independents . The hardest thing in politics is trying to get your story out. The easiest thing for your simply to lie is about your records. With so much money coming in from outside organization and groups, typically, texas had been in no aces when it came to outside political spinning because it was so expensive. We are such a big state to run in, but here, i think our friends on the other side have so much money, they had more money than they knew what to do with. So they ended up investing in the longshot in places like texas. I am very proud of the fact that outside organizations, nonpartisan organizations have called me one of the most effective members of the United States senate. Dont im not necessarily the first one to run to the microphones or tv cameras in the halls of congress. Frankly, i get the greatest satisfaction of solving problems that other people have not yet been able to solve. Do that is true bipartisan effort. It takes time and it takes trust. Something that has been in short supply in washington dc. I am a proud conservative, a proud texas conservative. I will work with anybody who is willing to join arms with me and join cause with me to be able to make some progress where progress is possible. Thank you, senator and everyone who joined us for this zoom. Us onreciate you joining this very historic evening. Zoom offg to cut the now, but the great news is you have six more years to ask the senator all your questions. Thank you very much. Good night. Peter here are the results as they stand now. Senator john cornyn reelected with 78 of the vote recording reporting. 53. 7 . He guard, 43. 8 . Senator cornyn is the second Ranking Member in the republican senate. Greta, youve got some updates . Greta while we were listening to john cornyn, ap called minnesota for joe biden. 53 to 45 in the state of minnesota. That calls for joe biden. In the senate race, lets catch up on that one. Gina smith is china win her first fulltime after winning a special election in 2018 to fill out al frankens feet. 56 reporting has a fourpoint lead over congressman jason lewis. A couple of house races in minnesota. Minnesotas first district, this is a rematch from 2018. Incumbent republican jim hagedorn hanging on with 68 reporting over the democrats. And then in the seventh district, Collin Peterson, a familiar face to our viewers, the chair of the ag committee wants to serve another term. Right now, with 62 reporting, he is trailing by 12 points. Is the area code for all of our numbers. 2027488920 if you are President Trump supporter. For those of you who support Vice President biden. And if you support neither of those two and have a different point of view, 2027488922 is the number for you to dial. You can see the text number down there if you cannot get through on the phone line. 2027488903. Reminder to put your first name and your city if you send us a text. All of our social media, just remember, at cspan, facebook, twitter, join the conversation. Website, cspan. Org with all the Election Results and all past events of election 2020. Back to your voices and your calls. Amber in nashville, tennessee on our support Vice President biden line. What do you want to talk about tonight . Caller i am here with my partner jasper, both of us come from a primarily democratic county in california and we are now living in a republican state by tennessee. I just want to say regardless of the outcome on the national basis, let alone on a state basis, i am really proud to see my friends and my colleagues, and also strangers, especially elderly strangers who are getting out and voting and exercising their right to vote. I think no matter what happens on that basis, i am just exuberant and optimistic for the future for the United States. Hopefully things will turn in our favor in the near or far future. Peter what brought you from california to nashville . Caller we both came here for school. We decided to stay here for music and other opportunities. But its strange to be surrounded by a supremely republican state. Peter does that make you uncomfortable . Uncomfortable will uncomfortable for the state of the nation, but not uncomfortable in the state of being. I think we can agree, its crazy is not then right term. But also brainwashed into the thinking of going against rights and thean way people should live, and pushing an agenda that is so ,arfetched from the way that honestly both sides want to agree upon living. Peter are you finding that viewpoint in nashville, that you are feeling suppressed . Caller not in nashville, no. Has a huge representation of people who are refugees. People who are moving from other states who are democratic. Just the standing in the city is very democratic and very uplifting for the rights of when you are surrounded by a sea of suppression. Its strange. Peter thanks for calling in this evening. Lori in salem, oregon. How is the night going for you . Caller hey, its going pretty well. How are you guys going tonight . I know youve been busy. Peter how are your candidates and issues doing . Caller i did vote for jo jorgensen, i am a libertarian. I am a little bit disappointed to see the low numbers nationally early. 1. 1 in oregon. I strongly believe that the libertarian voice needs representation, more so than it has. At the same time, i think that if jo was not on the board my choice would be trump, because he has shown over the last three plus years that he does seem to have some libertarian leanings as far as making peace deals, not starting new wars, reining in taxes and things like that. Did you think about what has happened in portland over the last couple of months when you went into the voting booth . Caller definitely. I was a close watcher of the rioting and the destruction going on in portland. From a distance, since i am in salem. It is really concerning. I think there is no excuse for that. I believe 100 in our first amendment. But when it gets down to destruction and violence and attacks, i think that is where the line is crossed. There needs to be great and powerful voices saying no to this. I think our local leaders failed at that. We got late in the game before they started condemning it. And i think it was unfortunate that it took deputizing our federal officers in portland until the end of the year to try to rein in that violence. I think that was unfortunate and unnecessary as we have the proper local leadership. Peter thank you for calling in this evening. Jessica taylor covers the gubernatorial and senate races. We have been talking with her all evening. Jessica, you have an update for us . We are seeing these open senate races that are going the same way that the Previous Party held. Though i would say, overall, its looking really tight. Somea call in networks are calling iowa for joni ernst. My sources tell me that it does look like thom tillis will hold on in North Carolina. As we talked about at the beginning of the night, these are the two Tipping Point states. I think there is still a lot outstanding in georgia. At least one race, that special election will go to a runoff. We are still waiting to see the republican lead in the regular election. But if he gets below 50, which could happen in these suburban counties, than that could also go to a runoff. That might be the best scenario for democrats at this point. , thatojection that we had we ended with last week was that democrats would gain anywhere between two and seven seats, it looks like it may be on the lower end of that. There is now a very realistic task for republicans to hold onto the senate. Peter have you called the Martha Mcsally race in arizona yet . I know fox news has, but im not sure. Have you declared him the winner as well . Do you feel he will win . [video clip] we dont jessica may calls, but the data i am looking at, i still believe it s way. O mark kelly there are still some outstanding votes. The true directory the trajectory does not look good for Martha Mcsally. I think democrats will probably pick up that one. They have already picked up colorado, but republicans have picked up alabama. Arizona continues to go that same way, then democrats are at 1. Net we are waiting on quite a bit of balance outstanding in maine. My sources tell me we will have within the next hour. Hopefully some of those outstanding ballots could go their way. Republican 24 the year incumbent is outperforming expectations. Peter she went out and spoke to her supporters. Speech, not do a victory but she said things were looking good. It was quite and a rousing speech, which we covered here on cspan. So, kansas and new mexico, whats going on . We have seen them called for the republican in kansas, this is the open seat. Pat roberts, retired. This is a seat we have seen lean republican. A statecrat there is legislator who had been a former republican and switched to the democrat. She heavily outraged marshall. Democrats thought that a heavy boat flock in kansas city and in the suburbs could boost her. Marshall, republicans believe he ran an underwhelming campaign, not raising a lot of money. But the more republican rural areas of the state clearly made the difference. There. Won new mexico has another democratic open seat. It looks like the congressmen who formally chaired the Democratic Congressional chair committee will be the next senator there. Eating out republican mark grunt etti who is ach former weatherman. That one was also a little bit closer. But Ben Ray Lujan has gotten the win. Peter can you give us an update on montana . Jessica still very close. We are waiting on a lot of outstanding ballots. Its too early to tell. I heard there is potential tabulation delays there. Again, i think its too early to tell. But i think its one this could be a determinant for democrats. Covered roy coopers victory speech for being reelected in North Carolina. Sident trump are leading is leading in North Carolina. Whenca we saw roy cooper four years ago when President Trump carried the state. Outperformed, has and it was very clear all along he would outperform at the top of the ticket. By a closer margin democrats expected him to. The last i checked it was about five points. A closer night than we thought it would be. Were offnk the polls in a lot of the states. Peter how is Governor Parson doing in missouri . Jessica that race has now been called. I think parson has won a full fouryear term there. This is a race that democrats hoped they could make competitor with the state auditor. I think the red lean of the state was too much to overcome. Forwardessica, we look to checking in with you later. Thank you for being with us. In wilmington, outside the chase center, Vice President biden has arrived at the chase center. He is due to make remarks. We dont know what they will be or what kind of remarks he will make, but this is the chase center live you. We will certainly go to those live as soon as Vice President biden start speaking. In the meantime we want to hear from mark on the support President Trump line in kentucky. To be alive blessed and living in the great state of kentucky. Peter that was the first day called for President Trump tonight. By sevenonnell won points as well. Caller absolutely. Great background, good person. A great lady, just wrong for kentucky. In my opinion, being the strong conservative that i am. But Mitch Mcconnell is doing a great job with what hes doing. I will keep pulling for him. Peter what do you do in kentucky . Caller i work for the school system. Bus. Imary job is driving a right now my high school is out over thehe numbers are percentile wagon. Im proud to say we delivered the meals to the kids. We drive around taking food everyday around lunch. Its a blessing to do. I enjoy doing it. Thanks for calling in. You can see that the live picture outside the chase center in wilmington, delaware. We will certainly go live as soon as that happens. There is an update. Look at the electoral map. 2231 74 is whats projected as of right now. Vice President Biden, 223. President trump at 174. You can see minnesota has been called for mr. Biden. Ohio and florida have been called for President Trump. Updates, a couple of battlegrounds. Pennsylvania, North Carolina, georgia, michigan, wisconsin, texas, arizona and nevada are still outstanding, along with alaska and maine. Where the projected election, according to the Associated Press, stands at this point. Priscilla, san diego on our support Vice President biden line. Good. im well, trying to be. Peter california went for Vice President biden already. Caller right, which is good. I kind of expected that from california. Peter we are going to listen to the Vice President live. [horns honking] biden good evening, your patience is commendable. We knew this was going to go along, but who knew it was going to go into maybe tomorrow or longer. Look, we feel good about where we are. [cheers] mr. Biden we really do. Wem here to tell you tonight believe we are on track to win this election. [cheers] we knew because of the unprecedented early votes and the mailin votes that it would take a wild. We are going to have to be the hard work of tallying votes is finished. It aint over until every vote is counted and every ballot is counted. [horns honking] but we are feeling good. We are feeling good about where we are. We have already won arizona, but we are confident about arizona. We also just got called for minnesota. We are still in the game in georgia. Although that is not one we expected. [horns honking] we are feeling real good about wisconsin and michigan. Way, its going to take time to count the votes, but we will win pennsylvania. [horns honking] i talked to the folks in philly, Allegheny County and scranton, they are encouraged by the turnout and what they see. We can know the results as early as tomorrow morning, but it may take a little longer as i said all along. Its not my place or donald trump place to declare who has won this election, that is a decision of the American People. But i am optimistic about this outcome. I want to thank everyone of you who came out and voted in this election. Chris coons and the democrats, congratulations here in delaware. [cheers] [horns honking] the whole team. You have done a great job. Im grateful to the poll workers and our volunteers, our canvassers. Everyone who is to who has participated in the democratic process. Im grateful for all of my supporters here in delaware and across the nation. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You heard me say it before. Every time i walk out of my grandpas house in scranton, he thed yell, joey, keep faith. My grandmother would say, no, spread it. Keep the faith, we will win this. Thank you, thank you, thank you. [horns honking] mr. Biden lets walk over here. Higher and higher mr. Biden thank you. [horns honking] [cheers] peter that was Vice President biden live in wilmington, delaware. Say. Eard what he had to we are going to return to your calls this Election Night. This is priscilla in san diego, whos a supporter of Vice President biden. We had to cut you off. Did you hear what the Vice President had to say . Caller i sure did. Its very encouraging. I feel thats a little pick me justat i kind of needed, because this whole election has been very stressful. Its motivating to hear from him. How havel night long you been getting your results . Your calling in here to cspan, so obviously we are on your flip. Caller i am currently watching cspan. I am also checking online constantly. Im using 270 to win online. They have a map where i can see what states are in the lead, who has won which state already and how everything looks. Im just trying to stay informed, but trying not to let it consume me. Peter it can get consuming, can it . Caller it can. Im trying to stay positive. I registered as independent. I really was iffy about how i but about biden at first, there were a lot of things that rubbed me the wrong way about trump. Needed toelt like i motivate my friends, my family and those around me to get out there and vote, which is what i did, and why i voted for biden. Peter is this the first time you voted in the president ial election . Caller it is. Im 21 years old. I still like i still feel like i have a lot a lot i have a lot to learn. I do have the california practice ballot, which has a lot of information in it, but i still had to do my research and look up several members and look up who was running. It took me probably three hours to really read about each individual candidate and figure out what they represent, what they are trying to do, what their plans are. Peter and that really is a practice that california has. Vote on the property uberroposition and the proposition . For uber i voted to keep it how it is. Id for the property tax, voted, i actually have it here in front of me because i cant exactly remember. I think i voted no. Those are very interesting because of the property tax revolution in california, long before you were born, i believe it was 1978 when they froze property taxes. Now the proposition changes in some ways. The uber thing is whether or not uber drivers are members of a company or end up in italy operated. Caller i voted that they were independent operators. I have family members who do uber and they told me how they felt about it. So i put how they felt into account and voted because i have never used uber. I cant really understand. Peter thanks. Appleton, wisconsin on our support President Trump line. You are on the air. Hows your night going . Jeff, we are going to hang up on you and go to greta to get more results and news. Greta lets start with the president s tweet. A minute ago you heard from joe biden and he talked to his supporters. The president tweeting we are up big but they are trying to steal the election. We will never let them do it. Boats cannot be cast after the polls are closed. I want to look at house races where there are rematches between the two candidates from 2018. We will start with georges six district. Sixth district. Lucy mcbath, democrat is up in that state with 50 reporting. District, theixth Vice President s brother has been declared the winner there over his democratic challenger. The same challenger from 2018. Iowas Third District representative is up slightly with 100 reporting. This one is very tight. Less than two percentage points. District,ns 12th democrat with a big lead right now. 60. 2 . Orting, district, 22nd excuse me, this is new ann mclane second, kuster, democratic incumbent is declared the winner in new hampshires second. In new yorks 22nd, anthony, the beat the person who won the seat in 2016. She is going after the seat again this time around. You can see 93 reporting. Si is trailing by quite a bit. In pennsylvania second district, the democratic incumbent, a sizable lead with 50 reporting right now. These are rematches from 2018. We will give you more as the night continues. Peter lets hear from a win in knoxville, tennessee. Who did you vote for and how did you vote. Person and ied in voted for howie hawkins. Peter the green party. Why is that . Caller i liked his stance on decentralization on our larger systems like education and health care. Peter did you think about the fact that, hey, may be joe biden is a better alternative because hes viable . Caller i am a political scientists and philosophy major, i dont think its right to vote strategically. Being the luxury to vote in tennessee, in a state that is pure red. So i have the luxury to vote with my conscience. Greenas able to vote because i feel like its the right thing to do. They support policies that will truly help americans at large. Peter are you a student at ut . And you are studying Political Science and philosophy . What year are you and what do you want to do with that degree . Caller i am a second semester sophomore. I am trying to push it forward into hopefully a phd into political theory. I want to work on re democratization and making changes to our liberal forms of democracy. You are a sophomore, this is probably your first president ial vote, is that correct . I am an older student, im 23. I voted in the 2016 election. This is your second president ial vote. How are you keeping yourself informed on Election Night . Its going on 1 00 on the east coast and in tennessee as well. How are you keeping yourself informed . Not just cspan, but you are flipping through or checking websites. How are you doing it . Caller i have the new york opened inpolitico addition to listen to cspan. In austin texas with the support of Vice President biden. Have they called the wendy davis, chip roy race and often race in austin . Most recently i saw chip was winning, unfortunately in my opinion. Peter tell us about yourself, tell us about your politics and why you called . Currently inhere austin, texas. I moved after growing up in west texas, predominantly conservative, very red state, in order to achieve a more liberal environment and i feel more comfortable here. The calling based on experience of being a young minority person, identifying as a generation z, being in a city claim, andrefuses to really seen the polarization that exists in the state. I think its important to notice that gen z is going blue. And the fact that senator cornyn was a 10 point a 10 point theseit shows that historical swings, the way they have gone in the past are beginning to change. I think thats important to note this election. Peter what has the pandemic been like for you in austin. Caller i will admit its been rough, but i will say austin has taken a good strong approach to it. Although the members did skyrocket, and i do have in areas with frat parties and sporty parties, i think with the proactive testing it has been written very well taken care of. To myally compared hometown in west texas, where its lacking at best. Are you still is to do at university of texas . Caller i am. Im going for my philosophy major. You are the second philosophy major in a row. One from university of tennessee and one from university of texas. Thanks for calling in and including us in your election coverage. Marshall isroger the new senator elect from the state of kansas. 53 of the vote over barbara, 42 of the vote. Speech. His victory [applause] marshall there was a nice call, very gracious. I want to complement her and her staff and i wish her and her family the best. Putting your name out there for the state of kansas. I just wish the very best for her and just have the respect for her that she deserves. Summoning people to think tonight. I want to thank for the people who place their confidence and trust in myself and our family. [cheers] rep. Marshall its a great honor and a great responsibility and we wont let you down. Doted for of if you either, it will always be kansans first. I will represent this entire state, because that is my responsibility and duty. Whether you are a republican, democrat or independent, if you are a kansan, we will probably represent you in our constitution. We aresaid, i believe always kansans first and americans first. And that we will fight to end the division. Will find the fighting between parties that does not lead to progress. Our country faces too many challenges from mother nature, to be fighting against each other. Healingr tonight is for , that all americans can come together and defeat our common in mis come about those we can see and those we cant see. That through these trials and tribulations, we can arise as a stronger, more unified republic. We are committed to fight for you, for your future, so that future generations have the same shot at the American Dream that weve had.
