Radio app. President trump held a round table with governors and local leaders to discuss efforts to cut regulations. This is just under 30 minutes. President trump 33 days where we set a new record. Thats fantastic. Our jobs numbers have come in fantastically well. Were with some of our great governors and other leaders of areas of our country that are doing incredible things. Doing incredible things. Were talking about a lot of regulation. Were talking about various tax cuts and various tax incentives so they continue onward with what theyre doing. But this is a meeting that was set up and was set up a while ago and i think theyre very happy about the fact that we have cut regulations like nobody in the hift are rf history of our country. In less than three years weve cut more regulations than any president for their full term or terms or in one case its beyond two terms. We know who that is. In one case you have a little longer than the eight. Weve cut more than any president ever. And were going to cut a lot more. We wanted to do one for two and were going to be probably one for 10 or 12 by the time we finish. I think were at about one for eight right now. Weve done some things that are pretty amazing. We have a lot of military areas represented at the table. And those areas are doing very well. Theyre thriving too. As an example, alaska. Our whole country is thriving. Its thriving like never before. The jobs numbers are incredible. Best in 51 years. And i think soon were going to be able to say historic if we go a little bit lower, well say in the history of our country, the best job numbers. With africanamericans, with Asian Americans and hispanic americans, we have the best in the history of our country. Best job numbers, best unemployment numbers. And the best employment numbers too. There is a slight difference. More people are working today in the United States than at any time ever in our history. Were almost up to 160 million people, weve never been close. So thats something really good. I think what well do is were going to go around the room quickly and say a few words about the area represented or the state represented and ill start off with our great Vice President , mike pence, and then well go around perhaps. Governor, well start with you. Thank you, mr. President. Great to welcome not only members of our cabinet, but really some of the most accomplished governors in the country to the table. People that have been leading in what you have defined as the Governors Initiative on regulatory innovation from the outset of this administration youve committed to revive the american economy. Mr. Pence as you said, we cut taxes across the board. For working families and businesses large and small. Weve fought for free and fair trade with deals that were Just Announced and headed to the floor of the usmca next week, phase one on china, the korea deal, weve worked to expand access to the american energy. But its been the Regulatory Initiative that you made a priority in this Administration Early on thats also been driving seven million jobs created by businesses large and small and that record Unemployment Rate, that you challenged us to work with governors and the country to make sure that states were also replicating the deregulatory effort that you initiated here at the federal level. We have gathered here, some of the real champions of regulatory relief, people that have been doing it and the governorelect from mississippi, in his role as lieutenant governor, has been a champion of regulatory reform. So today really is about how we keep the momentum in the economy, by encouraging even a Greater Partnership on freeing up the American People to create jobs and create wealth and opportunity. I know theyre all grateful for your leadership, mr. President. But i know how grateful you are for the governors gathered around here and all those they represent who are taking the principles you put into practice here in our nations capitol, capital, putting them into practice at the local and state level to create jobs and opportunities for americans. President trump thank you, mike, very much. Mr. President , following your leadership, my First Executive order was the two for one. Every new rule, we get rid of two. I did pretty well. I exceeded that by 4,000 . [laughter] we got rid of 82 rules for every new rule were implementing this year. But the whole effort of what it does, reducing the friction costs, particularly startups and small businesses, and people that have a tougher time , washing away that regulatory friction at both the federal level and the state level is a lot of that job creation. Little little its a gift that Damian Lillard its a gift that keep mr. Little its the gift that keeps on giving. That atmosphere, for people to be successful, the Great American story of entrepreneurialship, only happens if you reduce regulatory friction and whether its in [indiscernible] which were working on, about doing away with licensing requirements and making it to where military spouses dont have to go over a hurdle when they transfer from one state to another, or whether its just the rules to start, then when you get done you have to make sure that it doesnt build back up. We look forward to continuing to work with your administration on this. President trump great job. Thank you very much. Pete . Thank you again for leading on the regulatory reform. Its really a key thing, especially when you get rid of jobkilling things like the waters of the u. S. , which was an occupational licensing reform, thats something weve been work on in nebraska as well. It impacts so maybe poo so many peoples lives when you do that. We had a woman who wanted to open up her own hair braiding tpwhiss her home but because of rules and regulations in nebraska, she would have to ve 2 21 hours of licensing 2,100 hours of licensing or classes to open up her business. One of the things we did is we took got rid of that requirement so they wouldnt have to have that license so she could open up her own business and be able to help add jobs to the economy. Thats why things one of the things your administration supported. Thank you for that. We appreciate it. I signed an executive order, freezing all regulatory rulemaking until regulations had been reviewed. We cut the amount of regulation by 59 , department of environment and energy. Were working with your federal highway administration, so were taking over the nepa reviews. And thats going to allow us to be able to get those environmental reviews done faster. Still with yourover sight. But were one of eight states thats done. That id throsk say were the smallest state, but alaska has that distinction as being the smallest state. Thats an example of how were doing it. Then just process improvement, trying to make sure that were doing a good job of getting these things turned around quickly. We saved 300 hours of our all of this me but is helping to get rid of that friction that brad was talking about so that people, average americans can get about their lives and go about creating prosperity weve experienced under your administration. President trump any word on the pipeline permits . Energy right now is going through getting the easements for all the land holders that they havent come to agreements with. Of course were still waiting on the lawsuit in montana. But i expect that thats theres going to be more action on that next year. President trump good. Thank you very much. Id like to thank you. It is an honor to be here today, mr. President. And mr. Vice president. I dont know if anybody is familiar where im from. Im from the southern indian reservation, the southwest part of colorado. We take a lot of pride in our culture and our heritage. What we have, wed like to set an example for indian country. Thank you. President trump thank you very much. Thank you. Mr. President , thank you very much for what youre doing. I want you to know that what youre doing not only makes a difference in the in new mexico, which we appreciate, i know from earlier conferences it makes a difference all over the nation. New mexico lives and breathes oil and gas. Were your Third Largest oil producer, sixth largest natural gas producer. In the last two years we have 2 billion of surplus revenue to the state because of this industry. Its been amazing. God willing well have 174 billion of capital invested in this industry over the next couple of years. We have a lot of opportunities. President trump whats going to happen when they want to shut you down . Well, were banking on you, mr. President. [laughter] [talking simultaneously] President Trump youre my friend, i have no choice. [laughter] its a great honor to know that we have that back stop for what were trying to do. And i can tell you that theres a whole bunch of folks out there that understand the risk associated with the oil and gas systems. But they have trouble with the risk associated with the politics. And what youre doing is removing that risk, allowing us to deploy capital and make a lot of money for the nation, for our country, for our state and our cities. Were growing like, i mean, unbelievably. The delaware are just prolific. Recently i had dinner with a lady thats over the lower 48 for a mainly company, she told me only about 10 of those reserves currently are being tapped with technology. So you can just imagine whats in front of us with the little entrepreneurship. President trump were doing well out there, i understand. Yeah. We appreciate it. Thank you very much. President trump thats good. Thank you very much. Mr. President , first of all, congratulations on both usmca, but also the first phase of china trade. That is, as you know, very important to my farmers in arkansas, but also were a global export in a lot of different areas. That trade is very important to us. Congratulations to you, keep at it. And then secondly, thanks for your leadership on regulatory reform. The fact that you and the Vice President have taken a leadership role and it makes it easier whenever it comes to getting general assembly, legislative support, the public becomes more aware of this. And so weve made it a priority, it does impact the economy when we can reduce the burden of regulations and delays. Just in the air permitting, which is required, of course, for manufacturing facility, we have reduced the wait time for an air permit by 600 days. Thats just startling to think that will would be that kind of a backlog. But thats the kind of process improvement that helps industry either get a yes or a no more quickly. And then weve taken on, of course, the licensure reform to help those that are coming into the state and your leadership on that has been very important. So thank you and President Trump great job. Mr. President , as you know, just a little more than a week ago we had an extraordinary jobs report yet again. The market watchers, the experts were saying we add about 180,000 jobs, which is a good number. We blew that out of water with 266,000 additional jobs. We need to continue to look for ways to continue the economy. Usmca is part of that solution for a long time. But deregular is such a good dereg is such a good issue. The jobs market that were experiencing, it didnt just come about. There are reasons for it. Deregulation, as youve led it, is one of the prime reasons the states now can be examples of leadership as well. As governor hutcheson mentioned mentioned, occupational licensing. These requirements that you have a specialized license that varies. State to state. Were very concerned about military spouses. The soldier moves from state to state and the spouse comes along. Military spouses move from state to state seven times as much as average americans. So this is a real burden on them. Its a burden on their families who are already sacrificing so much. So weve been working with the states and others in trying to address that problem. President trump thank you very much. I have to say, governorelect, we spent a couple of days with you. A wonderful state. Mississippi. He won and he won easily. It was a tough race, it was a tight race. And people were watching it closely and when he won easily, they dont cover it. [laughter] they didnt mention a thing. Thats ok. They know in your state. Youre going to do a fantastic job. We appreciate you being here. Congratulations. That was great race. You ran a great winner. Pretty even and he won by seven. Won by a lot. We appreciate you being here. Go ahead. Thank you, mr. President. As a good mutual friend of ours says, these guys behind us dont ever cover airplanes that land safely. [laughter] but President Trump can i use that . The reality is that, and s. E. C. Scalia said this secretary scalia said this, these job numbers, lowest Unemployment Rate in mississippi and americas history, the history, the highest employment rate. Whats important to note, these things dont just happen. Its not just happenstance. Its the fact that good policies work. They work for mississippis economy and they work for americas economy. And so i just want to thank you very much for your leadership on regulatory reform, your adership on cutting taxes, lowering regulations and the trade deal. Its making a difference in my tate and across the country. I want to build on the momentum of where we are. Weve lowered regulatory costs of 50 million over three years. Were going to double that in the year 2020. What that looks like is about 220 billion of savings to the economy per year. So substantial growth from deRegulatory Initiatives. Thats about 3,100 per family thats going to benefit when were all said and done, when the president and the Vice President are all said and done, of real money in households pockets. That looks like about three mortgage payments. Thats about the size of a familys entire gas bill for the year. So this is real money, real benefits, and its only just begun. President trump thank you very much. Let me pile on the praise. And tell you why its so easy to do so in terms of a few indicators. When the Vice President handed me the keys in indiana, we were heading in the right direction. Humming along. But since that period of time, we just closed, we just our Budget Committee just threw out our revenue numbers for the first five months of the year. Were 200 millionplus above where it was projected to be. Weve got about 13. 9 in our cash reserves. About 2. 29 billion in cash reserves. We have more people working, just like in mississippi, than ever before in our States History. Weve tripled the Foreign Direct Investment in the last three years. We are moving in the right direction because of the tax and regulatory environment. It works. We manage a lot of land. Some of that land is indian land that we manage with the tribes. So today chairman sage and i began a process with the rulemaking that will allow them to better define how they want to have their land managed and then well approve a single permit that then they can manage the land going forward. So its really exciting. Interiors been a leader in the deregulation effort. Weve issued the second most deregulatory number of regulations and weve really pushed above our weight. Our permitting times are down andriev knew for oil and gas is nearly double from where it was when the president took over. President trump thank you very much. Please, governor. Mr. President , its a pleasure to be here. I want to thank you for all the things that youre doing. I dont think what people realize is the numbers dont lie. The numbers dont lie. When youre talking about unemployment, investment, etc. What youre doing for the country is obviously helping a lot of people tremendously. Far away, tuckeded up there in the north. But we now have record unemployment. In alaska. Our g. D. P. Is up two quarters in a row. Personal income is up, higher than its been in 10 years. More personal wealth is being created in alaska. I also want to do a shoutout from the troops. I dont know if folks know this but whenever the president flies over to asia, he lands in alaska, he refuels, but he gets out of the plane and he goes and meets the troops. And they talk about tall the time. All the time. I get an opportunity to talk to the president , its not just a b. S. Session, but its about what can we do to help alaska, whats happening in your state, what do we need to work with . I would say, im being honest, i cant think of a president thats helped alaska more than you have with trying to deregulate a number of the projects weve been working on, helping us gain a leg up to be one of the top Energy Producing states in the country. And i just want to thank you. In terms of regulation, in terms of helping the military spouses, were doing our part, were looking at 239 different regulations to modify or roll back and over 100 professions. We have a large indigenous population in the state of alaska. About 15 of our people are alaska natives. Your work on working on missing indigenous women, your work on public safety, your work on opioids. The numbers dont lie. Youre doing a tremendous job. He want to thank you on behalf of the people of alaska because what youre doing shepping us tremendously as well is helping us tremendously as well. President trump and lobbying. Anwr, which is essentially the biggest in the world. Well see what it is ultimately. But its potentially the biggest sight in the world. So it will be very interesting to see how that turns out. Great job. Thank you very much. Anybody else . Would anybody like to say would you like to Say Something . Go ahead. Thank you, mr. President. First of all, i think weve heard some people say congratulations on the usmca. Id like to congratulate you too but more importantly, id like to thank you for keeping your propositions to the people of this country. When you said you would renegotiate nafta, did you so. And we appreciate the followthrough. Ohios doing great right now. Our employment numbers are good. Were running a surplus as well. But were also following your lead on regulatory reforms. So in the state budget that the governor signed this past summer, we adopted the one and two out rule. We passed legislation in the last week related to military spouses so they can get reciprocity and get working quicker. And we have new legislation that was just introduced similar to what has happened in arizona that would, for many areas of occupational licensure, grant reciprocity from our states. Other states. President trump you have car Company Expansions and youre doing good. Weve had good news in lordstown in the last few weeks. President trump ive been pushing that hard. Thats very good. First of all, thank you for making your senior staff available to us today. We sat down for an hour and a half and it was just really nice to have a give and take and really hear from them some of the details of things that we can dig further into, things that youre doing that maybe we wont have time to discuss right here. Also, on behalf of south dakota, thank you for the trade agreement. We have had the largest Natural Disaster in our States History this year. We had more unplanted acres than another state in the nation. And weve been devastated. So ive been tightening our belt, but these trade agreements on a tough year where farmers are struggling to have that good news come right before christmas really did help them quite a bit. And you never quit. Which i love that you did it until you got it done and you won and by turn we get to win. Because were going to get to keep our family farmses and were going to get to keep south dakota wonderful. So i appreciate that. President trump its a great place. Youre also going to have a very exciting fourth of july. We are. Were going to have fireworks. Im hoping youll come to mount rush more. President trump were going to think about it. How many years ago . At least 10 years ago. President trump nobody knows why. You just couldnt have it. Now youre going to have fireworks. The governor call and she said, you got to do me a favor. We worked it out and got it done. Youre going to have fireworks. I appreciate what you said in the trade deals. Theyre incredible deal and theyre big. Globalingists want to us lose money. Who globalists want to us lose money. Im the op sifment i dont like deficits. You have people who dont mind deficits. I dont like factories closing and plants closing in this country, going to another country, taking our jobs. Ive never really been one to want to put up with it even. Ive been watching it because probably one of the reasons im president , ive watched that for so many years, factories and plants all over, whether its indiana or any other state, even you, right, every once in a while they close one over there. But it was the fact is i would watch as they closed plants, everybody gets fired. They move to mexico or some other place. Including china. In china they dont move, they just buy the product. Some people are happy. But not me. We keep our jobs, theyre moving back. The agreements very tough. The usmca is very, very tough. Its very hard to move, economically it makes it really prohibitive to get out. That was very important to me. But im not a globalist. I love this country. And were going to take care of our country. The deal with china is a massive deal. From a manufacturing standpoint. But the farmers, i mean, the farmers may be will be the biggest bertsch maybe will be the biggest beneficiary of all. I said start buying now. You have to start buying now and they did. They were doing a lot of business with the farmers in china and so the deal will be finalized over the next couple of weeks. Its translation is the biggest thing. The deal is finished but the translation is very important. I said, make sure you have the right translators, because you can lose a lot with bad translators. Were working on getting that done. But its going to be really a big i think you already see it. I think most of you see that now with china. Theyve already come in and theyre buying very big. We have a tremendously successful country. I think economically its the most successful its ever been. Our military is totally rebuilt. Our vets are being taken care of. We have choice and we have accountability. People dont talk about accountability. We had a situation in arizona where you couldnt fire people they did horrible things and you couldnt fire them. Now you can fire them. We took 55 years treave been trying to get that approved and they couldnt. We got it approved. That means that people are bad, they dont treat our vets well. They dont treat them with respect. They get fired. Thats the way it is. More than 8,000 people have been let go that were not good for us, were not good for the vets and theyve been trying to do this for decades and they couldnt get it. So we have accountability. We have choice. Choice is a big deal. From your standpoint its big. Most of you, all of you have big vet areas. Everyone in this room. But now you can tell somebody if he has to wait two weeks to see a doctor or four weeks or nine weeks in some cases, its the craziest thing, you go right outside, you see a doctor, a local doctor, you pick the doctor, we pay the bill, and they get theyre better. Weve had cases where they had to wait so long, they were not very sick, pretty routine stuff, they end up terminally ill because they couldnt get to see a doctor. So we finally got choice done. Theyve been trying that one for 44 years. For 44 years theyve been trying to get choice done and we got it done. The vets are very happy with us. Big on Second Amendment. This is a big Second Amendment group. I think for the most part i can say. That i dont think anybodys going to raise their hand and fight me on that one, jim. But theres a big Second Amendment room. These governors, every one of them. Were very strong on our Second Amendment. Our countrys doing fantastically well. Thank you all very much. Thank you very much. [talking simultaneously] were watching. I would be disappointed if something would be in the works and if it is, well take care of it. But well see. Were watching it very closely. Were watching North Carolina. Were watching many places very closely. But North Carolina we are watching very closely. Reporter mr. President , how much has giuliani shared with you about his recent trip to ukraine . President trump not too much. But hes a very great crime fighter. He was probably the greatest crime fighter over the last 50 years. Very smart. He was the best mayor in the history of the city of new york. Hes a great person who loves our country. And he does this out of love, believe me. He does it out of love. He sees what goes on, he sees whats happening. He sees all. Hoax that happens had they talk about impeachment hoax or russian collusion delusion. He sees it. He was the greatest mayor in the history of new york and probably the greatest crime fighter in the last 50 years. He knows what hes doing. Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you. [talking simultaneously] press, lets go. Were done. Keep moving. Come on, lets go.
