Several gop members, including jim jordan, spoke to reporters about the former ukrainian ambassadors testimony. Just want to share a few observations after the testimony today. We can all see what an incredible Public Service the ambassador is. We are so fortunate to have dedicated professionals like her serving around the world. She has served in some of the most dangerous places. So always with great distinction, great courage. Under fire, sometimes quite literally. She showed the same devotion encouraged to this country today. We are grateful to her. Where grateful to the other witnesses that have testified as well who show the country what it means to be a public, what it means to be a Career Foreign Service officer. Where enormously proud of them. We are enormously proud of them. That she had to endure another attack today is just appalling from the president of the united states. Appalling in this administration is not surprising. Nonetheless, she endured the attack and went on. Where grateful for that. We are grateful for that. It is quite clear from her testimony as well as others that Rudy Giuliani and the president thought it was necessary to get her out of the way. Notwithstanding what the president and others were told about her dedication to the country. Her commitment to fighting corruption was part of the reason why she was pushed out. Pushing her out made it possible to put in the three amigos to conduct ukraine policy. There were any doubt about why she was pushed out, i think the call record illuminates that doubt. Eliminates that doubt. The president associated his bias in favor of this corrupt prosecutor with the need to push out Marie Yovanovitch, with the need to move forward with the investigation he wanted of his political rival. The u. S. Ambassador would be so shamefully smeared and cast aside to further this corrupt effort just as further insult to the injury done to the country, to our national security. Thank you. Reporter what are the expectations for next week . It would be the last public hearing your committee will hear. As you have seen, we have combined witnesses from time to time in different panels. Depending on how long within the testimony may go. We also try to accommodate schedules, but the witnesses accommodate us. In terms of whether the ambassador is a final testimony, im not clear to say, but where moving expeditiously. We are trying to move methodically. But we are moving expeditiously. We are trying to move methodically. I would say that the president s attack on the witness today is not something we view in isolation. It is part of a pattern the president of the u. S. A pattern that goes back to brazing Paul Manafort for not cooperating, condemning michael rat rent cohen as a because he was cooperating, digesting that we out to ou ght to treat those whistleblowers as we treat spies. This is part of a pattern to intimidate witnesses. And, its also part of a pattern to obstruct the investigation. It was also a part of a pattern to obstruct justice. We need to view the president s actions today as part of a broader and incriminating pattern of conduct. Reporter [indiscernible] and witness that was not even in ukraine during the relevant time frame. Before he was even inaugurated as president. Again, i say this every time, it is the truth. 4 facts on never change. We got the call transcripts, no conditionality. We have the two individuals on the call. They both said there was no pressure, we know they ukrainians that not know aid was withheld. Most importantly, the ukrainians specifically president zelensky, never took a election to get the aid relief. Though sex never changed and will never change those facts never changed and will never change. This is day two of a failure of adam schiff and his secrecy. He is making up the rules as he goes as we saw today. He did not let republicans put forth any unanimous consent or control our own time. I was interrupted about six times throughout the hearing. Just more of the ridiculous abuse of power we are seeing from adam schiff. One of the most important facts i came across today, ambassador you one of which testified Marie Yovanovitch testified the president can appoint at will. He can pick who his or her ambassadors are. I want to highlight, the Obama State Department was so concerned about conflict of , that the Obama State Department, the first instance where Marie Yovanovitch had ever heard the word, that is an important fact to note for all of the viewers here today. Onwill continue asking behalf of the millions of americans who want to know the answer to the question. On the whistleblower, it is important to note that adam schiff and i listed all of the instances of it. Adam schiff said he was adamant about hearing from the whistleblower. It only changed when it became clear there was coordination between democratic staff and the whistleblower. I thought we were on the public stage of this impeachment inquiry. Debategoing back to the of the capital for another deposition the American People will not get to see. What they also have been seeing are for transcripts of people who have already been deposed, which means under house rules, we cant use the testimony in these proceedings. We would like to use part of the testimony as an example in the open hearings, but we are prohibited under house rules from doing that. When is he going to release those transcripts of we can use that information in the public hearings . Reporter [indiscernible] undercutcompletely a completely undercut what you are trying to do . We are here to talk about impeachment. Let me answer your question. These hearings are about impeachment of the president of the u. S. This is a constitutional matter. You can disagree or dislike the tweet, but we are here to talk about impeachment. Nothing rises to the level of impeachable offenses. This is not the first or last tweet they are going to complain about. There is not a single fact that is impeachable. Reporter [indiscernible] the witness was able to answer questions. The only People Limited from asking questions or republican members. Where muzzled adam schiff. We are muzzled by adam schiff. When we are talking about impeachment, we are talking about impeachable offenses. You can disagree or agree with the tweet, but as we know, the democrats want to continue making this a political food fight. This is a very serious matter, this is a constitutional matter, not about tweets. Reporter [indiscernible] i agree with Marie Yovanovitchs testimony that she thinks it is good policy that the president of the u. S. Can determine who serves as his ambassador. I agree with the president s ability to pick and choose who his ambassadors are and those voted on by the senate. Reporter [indiscernible] the president wants diplomatic position. That is the president s call. We have a new administration in ukraine that didnt have the same confidence in this ambassador. It was appropriate with all the diplomats we had to put someone in with a new regime in the ukraine that can actually work behalf, residents the behalf of the American People. She testified a Smear Campaign against her. Why is that ok . To president will have home he desires doing diplomatic work for the company. That has been all this talk about it is important that a regular channels a regular channels irregular channels. Yet the president s lawyer part of the group. The president can have home they want doing the work of the country. Reporter [indiscernible] do you believe her . Reporter [indiscernible] is that appropriate for the president to be attacking a witness . I dont know that it was an attack on the witness. It was really a characterization of a resume. Her resume. When you look at this, you guys wanting to go on with no attorneys, no witnesses, no twitter, no anything. At some point, you have to say, when is it going to be a fair process . Today was not a fair process and it is not going to be a fair process. It was not a fair process on the muzzled the gentlewoman from new york over and over again. It is not fair. Adam schiff never brought this up. The real one doesnt have the bribery. Just like that make belief, he created a parity version of the parody version of the two weeks where he left that out. Maria von read the entire tweet and then respond. Marie yovanovitch should read the entire tweet and then respond. Why would he cherry pick out . Information, he outright lies and cherry picks makes. In this case, he took a part of a tweet. It was the entire approach to it. The fact they never ask the ambassador about what president zelensky said about her. That is how he rules with all of this. Why is President Trump putting out information on fighting back . It is because adam schiff only once the American Public to have 3 of the information and connect dots that are not connected to the worlds greatest parity. Anyone out there can go back and read the deposition. We spent 7, 8, 9 hours. President trump is right to want to defend himself and ensure that the story is out there. Reporter [indiscernible] reporter [indiscernible] that is what it was all about. I find it really interesting. Someone recommended today that we gave ukraine legal aid. She said it even in the previous administration, this is what they wanted. And Congress Approved it. This is about providing the eight or not. Aid or not. The previous administration, against the agency in congress, do then id ukraine legally. Aid to ukraine legally. May be clear. Let me be clear. Trumpcer president answered a few questions on the impeachment proceedings, whether he was witness tampering due to his tweeting. He was trying to intimidate ambassador you manage, and ambassador Marie Yovanovitch and if you think he will be impeached
