Even if they do, it should still be able to advance easily. So what does this mean . The way the republican structured their tax bill seems to be a partyline vote. So when congress adopts the budget resolution, that will send reconciliation instructions to the committees, and that does not have it much of a purpose in the house, but in the senate, it allows them to pass their tax bill with a simple majority vote, meaning they will not need democrats in the senate, nor the old nor will they be able to filibuster. What have we heard from democrats in the weeks before the debate . Expect any democratic support. It is a conservative policy document both in spending levels and policy, and democrats will be definitely opposed to this solution. Has the white house given Republican Leadership any indication of their view of the budget resolution, how quickly they might want see it done . See it move to forward pretty quickly. Everything that happened with repeal and replace throughout the summer and even last week, the white house really wants some wins, and adopting the budget resolution would give them a win heading into tax reform. Nexts in the timeline for week when will we see rules and when do you think it will be on the house floor . I think it will be in the rules committee on tuesday at 3 00 p. M. , and we heard from the Committee Chairman that she expects a floor vote on thursday.
