Court Orders Holy Quran to be Added as a Separate Subject in New Curriculum
Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the Punjab government to introduce the Holy Quran as a separate subject in the curriculum from the next academic year.
According to details, LHC’s two-member divisional bench, headed by Justice Shahid Waheed, in a brief verdict, directed Attorney General Punjab to include the Holy Quran along with its translation as a subject distinct from Islamiat.

Justice Shahid Waheed has also issued instructions to Chief Secretary Punjab, Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab, and Secretary School and Education Department (SED) Punjab to ensure timely inclusion of the Holy Quran in the curriculum before the commencement of next academic year.
