Port Huron City Council will meet in both a special and regular session meeting this evening. First during a special session, council will be discussing a proposal from Johnson Controls for work at the Palmer Park Recreation Center, McMorran, and DPW facility. The nearly $4-million proposal uses American Rescue Plan dollars to help replace and upgrade heating and air conditioning, electrical, lighting, and security. Following special session, council will then enter regular session which could see multiple bids approved for some long anticipated construction projects. That includes a $28,000 bid from Stainless Cable Solutions for perimeter fencing for the McMorran plaza and a $2.2-million bid for the reconstruction of Fort Street from Raymond Excavating. Officials are also expected to accept a over $300-thousand dollar grant for asset management at the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant. Port Huron City Council meets at 6pm first in special session, then in regular session at 7pm, both to be held at the Municipal Office Center.
