Council reallocate COVID-19 funding, talk town financials

Town of Devon council held a virtual meeting on Feb. 22, 2021.
The government of Canada and the government of Alberta are offering support to municipalities through the Municipal Operating Support Transfer (MOST), to alleviate significant operating impacts due to COVID-19.

Municipalities can use MOST funding for operating costs incurred due to the COVID-19 response, as well as other operating losses or deficits incurred as a result of the pandemic’s impacts on town revenues and operations. The Town of Devon received $318,080 from the provincial government and $353,002 from the federal government for a total allocation of $671,082.
