However, restrictions on the northern beaches will again be temporarily eased, as occurred over Christmas.
On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, residents of the northern part of the northern beaches will be allowed to have up to five visitors at their homes, as well as outdoors. South of Narrabeen Bridge, residents will be allowed 10 visitors either in their homes or at a gathering outside.
"Unlike Christmas, those 10 people include children and it also means they have to be from your zone, from the southern part of the northern beaches," the Premier said.
"We don't want people moving in and out of the area for the next few days. We want to keep the area separate to make sure that any untraced chains of community transmission have actually been clamped down."
