Jasper Municipal Council has selected a contractor to install water and sewer services for the Connaught Drive Affordable Apartments project.
During its May 4 regular meeting, council directed administration to enter into agreement with WSP for the detailed design and project management for the installation, with a contract value of $244,800.
“I just want to recognize the work that has been done to date (by administration),” said Coun. Paul Butler.
“We really need this sort of thing done in order to afford ourselves the opportunity to build affordable housing in the future along that site.”
The affordable housing project is expected to be a 40-unit apartment building, a modular construction containing 32 one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom suites.
