Interim chief Sonia Gandhi's meeting with senior Congress leaders on Saturday morning ended after almost five hours and sources said nobody in the meeting objected to Rahul Gandhi's name from being proposed for the party chief's position again, although there will be "Chintan shivir" or brainstorming camps soon.
Sources said all leaders want Rahul Gandhi to take the responsibility of party president at which point he said it should be left to the electoral process of the party. The Congress party is going through a leadership crisis after several stalwarts in the past few months have concerns and also wrote to the interim chief about it.
