The settlement also address failures related to outages in Brooklyn and Manhattan in 2019, and a steam outage in 2018 in which a ConEd steam pipe ruptured in the Flatiron district of Manhattan, according to the state.
Frontier and Central Hudson's settlements will also resolve claims they failed to adequately prepare and respond to Tropical Storm Isaias.
"The company’s robust investments in its energy-delivery systems keep them resilient in the face of climate change, which is making severe weather events more frequent and devastating," said Con Edison in a statement Thursday, adding that Isaias was the second most destructive storm in their region’s history.
