Community raises money to buy new accordion for Rainbow after alleged assault on Varick Street
Utica police are investigating after Rainbow Young, a man known to many who frequent Varick Street in Utica, was allegedly assaulted Thursday night just before 7 p.m.

UTICA, N.Y. – Utica police are investigating after Rainbow Young, a man known to many who frequent Varick Street in Utica, was allegedly assaulted Thursday night just before 7 p.m.
While Rainbow was not seriously injured, his accordion was destroyed, and a GoFundMe has been created to buy him a new one. Community members had already donated more than $4,800 by late Friday morning.
