Community Grants Opening For Some Nonprofits In Boone, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago Counties

Grant applications open Aug. 2 and close at 5 p.m. on Sept. 13.
A northern Illinois foundation is opening grant applications for qualified nonprofit organizations in certain sectors for its Community Grants Program. It’s looking to award more than $1.4 million for the 2021 grant cycle.
The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois will have informational meetings for some 501(c)(3) nonprofits interested in applying for the funds.
Dan Ross is the president of the foundation. He said the sessions are needed for those who have never applied for a grant before.
“And so, it's a great way for them to just learn about the process and learn about what might be involved with it,” he said. “And it's also a good way for them to interact with others that in their field or in the nonprofit community that might be doing the same thing.”
