ERIE, PA - The historic 2020-21 season for the Colgate women's ice hockey program came to an abrupt end with a 1-0 overtime loss to the University of Minnesota-Duluth in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals, Monday.
After going scoreless through 60 minutes of play, Ashton Bell scored the game's only goal 6:39 into the extra frame in order to advance the Bulldogs into the semifinal round.
"It was a great hockey game tonight between two really good teams, hence we needed overtime to solve it," said Greg Fargo, Colgate head coach. "I thought for the most part we played a really good game and played the game we wanted to play. We would have loved to found a way to generate a few more chances at times, but Duluth did a great job defensively."
