Cold case murder: Father denies ordering son to kill wife

UPDATE: The husband of a woman who was shot to death in 1996 has been questioned in court about whether he ordered one of his sons to kill his wife.
Ian Britton has denied having anything to do with her death and said a possible chat with a workmate about "knocking" her off was "only talk".
A court heard then-Blackwater resident Ian was having an affair with a family friend and had been on the verge of confessing his infidelity when his wife Dorothy was killed on about March 6.
A Mackay Supreme Court jury heard she was shot in the head in her bed - her body was discovered by her daughter-in-law Maxine Britton the following evening.
