They are growing in popularity across the Coast, so we've asked high school intern Harrison Cooper to provide a guide to today's eshay culture.
 
What are eshays?
While eshays were prominent in the early 2000s, the subculture is again gaining momentum among Australian teens.
This generally male youth subculture is the Australian equivalent of the British chavs or roadmen.
The culture emerged from the low-income housing estates of inner Sydney and Melbourne, where members often relied on government money and Centrelink payments to fuel their dangerous drug addictions.
