Ive seen several cases where youve had more than one individual firing into a crowd. Its unusual in the sense that when were usually talking about Mass Shootings, its one shooter multiple people dead or injured. What have you but on The Street when you have these things occurring for in cities unfortunately, just not all that unusual whats your reaction, chief to yet another Mass Shooting in america, which thats what youre waking up to. Well, i mean, its not a surprise. Its not going to stop. I mean, so i think were over 400 so far this year when you take a look at actually whats going on around the country, no place is really, immune from having something like this take place. There in the early stages of this investigation. So based on probably witnesses is how theyre able to determine they had more than one shooter. You can also determine just looking at the Shell Casings they might have multiple different caliber numbers of Shell Casings on the ground, it would lead them to believe that it was more than one shooter. So this is at the very early stages of theyll eventually find out whos responsible and respond accordingly and commissioner, we have limited details as you alluded to right now, we dont have a description of the suspects, the weapon for weapons involved, if the victims were all in one location or frankly, just how large this Crime Scene may be with all of that how can police reassure the public that this is a safe area right now . Well i mean, they dont have the shooters in custody yet. So you cant 100 provide any assurances to the community but this could have been targeted right now. They dont know if it was targeted. Was it the result of an argument at one of the clubs . You know, thats the kind of information they simply do not have right now and as they get more information, theyll put information out. Thatll help put the public at ease. But this is something to be concerned about because right now they dont know what they have other than the fact that theyve got a lot of people shot, theyve got multiple shooters. They are not in custody they dont know why it happened and so people will wake up and therell be very concerned about whats going on right now. So communication from the Birmingham Police department is going to be essential to get as much information as they can out to the public, get the publics help. Somebody knows what happens. Somebody knows whos responsible and all i got to do is get their hands on one of these guys. And if they do, then the likely hell lead them to the other yes. Its early in the investigation, but the Birmingham Police in this News Conference did stay that they do not know if the suspects either walked up into the shooting or this was a dry ive by but if there were a lot of people in the area, i mean, dont you think someone would have seen something probably just havent been able to confirm, but yes, Somebody Saw Something and whether it was a driveby, whether they got out of a car, walked up and committed the shooting, then went back and got in a vehicle and made their escape ive seen it happen that way too. So the early stages of an investigations pretty chaotic. And a lot of information comes in sometimes that information is conflicting. They can have one witness. They all they grow up and im going to say i think they walked up until theyre able to confirm that youre not going to put that kind information out and find out later that they were wrong. So theyll get it out as soon as theyve confirmed it up a bit commissioner, can you talk to us about as far as we understand, this is in an Entertainment District, a popular area, and im thinking back to your Neck Of The Woods where a couple of years ago there was a shooting on South Street in philadelphia similarly, there were a lot of people and locked out of people, including in that case, at least by bystanders were hit. Is very hard to approach this in an investigation sense, when it is a populated entertainment type district. Were really not that difficult. Youll have a lot of witnesses. Youll have a lot of forensic evidence, perhaps therell be there on the scene that theyre going to have to collect. But the fact that they have witnesses, the fact that its an Entertainment District means that theres probably a lot of video in that area that they can then recover and take a look at and see if they can figure out exactly what took place. And so the more people you have, the more resources you need to use in order to interview all the witnesses and do all the things you need to do. But the more witnesses, the better you hope it doesnt happen in a crisis. How that area, simply because youll want but more innocent people getting shot.
