Clinton man arrested, charged with evading arrest, injuring officer

CLINTON — A deputy with the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office was injured Sunday morning during a struggle with a Clinton man who was evading arrest, officials said.

At about 9 a.m., Deputy Elijah Curtis traveled to Clinton to serve James H. Simonson, 60, with an arrest warrant from Somerset County after Simonson had failed to appear in court on a drug trafficking charge, according to Lt. Chris Read.
