DULUTH, Minn. – CHUM is looking to capitalize on Minnesota’s annual FoodShare month.
Because it is typically a slow time for the CHUM food shelf and over 300 other food shelves across the state, the organizations are partnering with the greater Minnesota Council of Churches to match the donations coming through their doors.
They are also partnering with local farms which would help meet their food donation goals.
“If growing conditions work and all of that sort of thing happens this summer we might be looking at a surplus of a thousand extra pounds of produce,” CHUM Distributive Services Director, Scott Van Daele says.
