CROWLEY (KLFY) — Crowley Police Department officers responded to a drug overdose Saturday and ended up taking an assault rifle from the hands of a 10-year-old child, KLFY-TV10 reported.
When officers got to the scene at a Dairy Queen parking lot, they checked inside a vehicle in the parking lot and found an Oberlin man in the driver's seat. The man had apparently overdosed, according to the report.
His wife, who was in the passenger seat, told police there was cocaine and fentanyl in the cup holder.
In the back seat, officers found two handguns on the floor and a 10-year-old boy holding a loaded and live AK-47 rifle next to his three brothers and sisters. The children were ages 12, 10, 2 and 1 month old, according to KLFY.
