CHESHIRE â The School Modernization Committee has been reviewing potential options for its infrastructure plan over the past three weeks, and it appears the group has narrowed it to two different scenarios.Â
Over the course of two recent meetings, the group went through the specifics of the proposals, focusing attention on what the initial phases of those proposals would require. The first of the two plans would include the construction of a new elementary school and a full renovation of Dodd Middle School. To execute this, the proposal calls for the town to spend approximately $159.4 million. The second plan would involve building a brand new middle school capable of instructing students in grades 6 through 8 as well as a new elementary school, built on the current Chapman Elementary School property. This plan would cost approximately $160 million.
