PITTSBORO — The Chatham County Collection Centers Swap Shops re-opened on April 19. The Swap Shops are a place for residents to leave and take gently used items, so they do not have to be disposed of in a landfill. The Swap Shops have been closed since March 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We originally closed the Swap Shops to comply with state and health expert guidance related to coronavirus,” said Kevin Lindley, Chatham County environmental quality director. “With the governor’s latest executive order related to coronavirus, we feel comfortable re-opening the Swap Shops and are excited to be able to offer this waste reduction program to residents again.”
