Chapter and verse: A Totally Different World

In thinking about what to write for this week's column, I considered issues affecting churches in the Hutchinson area, local tidbits, and others, but what truly is on my heart today is what is happening in Israel and the Gaza Strip.
If you all have been hiding under a rock you may not know that Hamas, the main Palestinian arm of the government for the Palestinian people has been sending countless rockets into Israel, and Israel in turn has been shelling the Gaza strip.
This volatile situation is a challenge to peace in the region. Both sides have reasons for doing what they are doing. But what hurts my heart is the innocent bystanders that are trapped in the middle.
