OAK BLUFFS — A crowd of well-known faces will be on the island this week for the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival.  Academy Award winners Regina King and Spike Lee, California Congresswoman Barbara Lee, the daughters of Malcolm X and Muhammed Ali, musician/director Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, and Kenya Barris, creator of the TV show “Black-ish” are among the celebrities turning out for the film festival.
The 19th annual event will continue producer Run & Shoot Filmworks’ mission “of providing a positive environment where African American filmmakers can share their thoughts, ideas and aspirations” while also showcasing “the best in African and African American cinema.”
