A FAMILY’s ceiling completely collapsed from water damage after they had been complaining about a leak in their upstairs bathroom for more than three years.
Wendy and Martin Ritchie had been complaining about a leak in their bathroom to their housing association since they first moved into their home at Crookhays, in Shaftesbury over three years ago.
Mr and Mrs Ritchie are currently tenants with Sovereign Housing and have three children, aged 11, 14 and 17 who are all vulnerable and have found the situation very distressing as they were left without washing facilities.
The couple said that they believed that the leak from the upstairs toilet, which was leaking into their downstairs bathroom directly below, had been a problem before they moved in for the previous tenant at the property.
