Holbrook Hall Residential Care Home in Belper was very quick to recognise the importance of keeping morale high during lockdown by supporting its residents to stay connected with loved ones and ensuring they stayed active and engaged.
Morag Vaughan, the managing director of the care home explains “Obviously the emotional well-being of our residents is of prime importance, so when we read about a meeting hub that was built in Germany in order that their residents could meet safely with their families and friends in a covid secure environment-we thought it was a brilliant idea. By June 2020, we had built our first meeting hub adjoining the main building, complete with lighting, heating and an intercom system. We were one of the first care homes in the country to build such a hub and by November we had built our second hub-this one indoors. They have proved extremely popular with both families and residents”
