And Mr Moore touched the lives of many with his inspirational fundraising, including Pearl Naylor MBE.
Before her passing, Pearl - the longest serving volunteer for Fair Havens - took on her very own garden marathon to raise money for the adult hospice.
At the time, she said: "When I saw Captain Tom doing his challenge at 100 years old, I thought to myself ‘I can do something, too.’
"So we had the idea of 26 laps of my garden because the London Marathon – which raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for Havens Hospices – is 26 miles.”
Spokesperson for Havens Hospices Amy Dearing, said: "Captain Tom inspired so many people of all ages to take on their own fundraising challenge during the first wave of the pandemic.
