CAA will have no negative socio-economic impact on people, says Tripura BJP chief

Tripura BJP state President Rajib Bhattacharjee defended the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), stating that its implementation would not negatively affect the country's socio-economic conditions. He emphasized that the CAA's cut-off date for eligibility, set in 2014, ensures minimal impact, dismissing opposition claims as baseless. Bhattacharjee clarified that the CAA excludes areas under the sixth schedule and those under the Inner Line Permit system, allaying fears in tribal areas. He urged opposition parties to refrain from spreading misinformation and praised PM Narendra Modi for enacting the CAA to protect cultural and religious identities.
