Fried chicken brand Mother Clucker has been acquired by Byron owner Famously Proper.
The deal will see the “unique identity and secret recipe” of Mother Clucker remain the same as it expands under the new ownership, but founders Ross Curnow and Brittney Bean are set to leave the business.
The pair founded Mother Clucker in a converted US Army ambulance in 2013 and now operate sites in Clerkenwell and Stanstead Airport alongside numerous street food pitches in London and a number of Deliveroo Editions sites.
The irreverently positioned brand specialises in tea brined, buttermilk soaked, twice battered fried chicken and was in the first wave of higher quality chicken players.
