The lawsuit names the township, Burke and township Manager Joseph Sabatini.
Underwood said the department also looked at his personal Facebook page, where he got into another exchange regarding race relations on June 10.
Underwood shared a video entitled, "What the left won't tell you about the plight of Black people and the myth of systemic racism." The video, posted by NewsBusters, which touts itself as a blog "exposing and combating liberal media bias," includes snippets from interviews with famous Black people including rapper Lil Wayne. The rapper states in an interview that there is "no such thing as racism."
In the exchange, Underwood writes, apparently sarcastically, "I now see it. Because I grew up in a well-off white town and never had to deal with discrimination because of the color of my skin I must be racist."
