A Brown City man has been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly causing the March 7 traffic crash that killed another man.
James Gregory Stanich, 36, was arraigned Sunday on charges of second-degree murder, operating while intoxicated causing death and tampering with evidence.
He is being held without bond.
St. Clair County Prosecutor Mike Wendling said his office waited for an extensive crash investigation from the St. Clair County Sheriff Department and toxicology reports from samples of Stanich's blood before charging him. A warrant for his arrest was issued Friday, and he was arrested Saturday, Wendling said.
Wendling said Stanich allegedly tampered with evidence at the scene of the crash.
