A baby boom at City Hall and a shake-up of meeting arrangements during the coronavirus pandemic has prompted a Brisbane City Council move to “family-friendly” meeting hours.
The announcement came during the first hybrid sitting of the council on Tuesday, with Labor deputy leader Kara Cook joining the council and committee meetings via video link.
In making the announcement, Cr Schrinner pointed to 2018 changes in Queensland Parliament to ensure sitting days wrapped up by 7.30pm at the latest.

It was hailed as a landmark day by lord mayor Adrian Schrinner and Cr Cook, who had been told last year it would be too costly and difficult for her to join the meetings remotely after the birth of her third child in January.
