BESSEMER — The Bessemer Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place on Saturday night at the Comfort Inn on Academy Lane.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 18-year-old Orlando Keith Williams, Jr., of Brighton. According to the coroner’s report, Williams sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault at approximately 11 p.m. Saturday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:32 p.m.
No arrests have been made, as detectives are investigating the case as a homicide.
