The Brentwood Police Department unveiled their new $29 million headquarters during a grand opening celebration Thursday.
The start-of-the-art facility comes during the department's 50th year and marks the first time Brentwood police will have their own facility.
The historic occasion was marked with a ribbon cutting and speeches by city leaders.
The city acquired the property the headquarters was built on in 1999 with initial plans of it housing a community center. But as the city ballooned in recent decades and the department outgrew its former space, the new headquarters was approved in 2017.
"Much like any church without a congregation, this building would only be a structure without the phenomenal staff of people who comprise this department," Chief Jeff Hughes said.
