Brainerd council to interview 7 police chief candidates

A new chief will likely be hired by the end of the year.

Seven candidates are set to be interviewed for the Brainerd police chief position Thursday, Dec. 10, to replace Corky McQuistion, who will retire at the end of the year.
The city’s civil service commission, which oversees the hiring process for the police department, chose the following candidates as the top picks. After Thursday’s interviews, council members will likely make a decision on the new chief at their next meeting Dec. 21.
