Boy, 7, dies in freak sledding accident after he slid underneath a moving van that was driving down a curvy, mountainous road in California
Michael Rigg, from Beaumont, collided with a 2020 Ford Transit 350 on the 5200 block of Sylvan Way in Pine Cove just before 3pm 
He was sledding down a driveway when he entered the road at the same time the vehicle approached in the eastbound lanes
The small boy slid under the van and suffered major injuries 
Driver of the van, a 35-year-old Desert Hot Springs man, stopped to retrieve Michael and bring him to Cal Fire's Keenwild station
The station is roughly seven miles away in Mountain Center
