Boulder King Soopers to renovate following mass shooting
BOULDER, Colo. (KRDO) -- King Soopers announced Wednesday plans to rebuild the Table Mesa location in Boulder, where a gunman opened fire, killing ten people on March 22.
The grocery store chain will make a substantial investment to completely renovate both the interior and exterior of the store. A partnership with the City of Boulder will help accelerate the rebuilding process to reopen in late fall.
“Our plan to reopen is a testament to the resilience of our associates and the Boulder community. We continue to mourn those who were lost and stand with the other victims of this senseless tragedy. We are committed to supporting our associates who remain on paid emergency leave until June 19 and will be here for the community as we continue the long healing process,” said Steve Burnham, President of King Soopers/City Market. “Our goal is to support one another and grieve and heal together.”
