The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Barisan Nasional (GRS-BN) and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) State Governments have formed a consensus, through the Borneo Bloc concept, to support a government to be formed at the Federal level that can deliver political stability and benefits to both states.
This is possible after both GRS-BN and GPS emerged victorious in the 15th General Elections in their respective states. Together, they would deliver 35 seats to the eventual overall winner at the federal level that at press time at 3am was still unclear.
GRS-BN won 13 of the 25 parliamentary seats in Sabah, while GPS won 22 out of the 38 parliamentary seats in Sarawak.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said he and his counterpart, Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, reached a consensus on the matter after the results were known
