A higher classification than previously reported, although the Clinton Campaign says those emails were not marked classified at the time. Given the developments of today, what is the worstcase scenario for Hillary Clinton . Mark that the Justice Department and fbi get her server, find and undelete emails that she did not turn over and that has both classified information and information that was government business that she did not hand over. Im not saying that is all going to happen. That is certainly within the realm of possibility and its clear the fbi is being aggressive in going after trying to figure out what happened with how she handled information on her private server. John we know we have not done a lot of coding when you delete things, you dont really delete them. The question will be raised are these things really deleted . If you start digging into the guts of that machine, what do they find . If they dont find anything which is a point you have made if they dont find anything, people will say wow, they must have been hiding something. If they do find something, whether it is the nature you said or has something with the foundation business, that maybe mark that would have to be leaked. That would not come out. John there have been some leaks, as you are aware, so that can be problematic, too. It gets to the nexus of government and foundation. Mark this gives a wedge for the republican investigators on capitol hill to piggyback. They wanted the server and are not getting it yet. Now, the Justice Department has and it opened the door and they will say look, we cant trust Barack Obamas Justice Department. We need to look at it. It is not good for her and this story is not going away. Look up in the sky it is a bird, it is a plane, no, it is super bernie. Bernie sanders, senator from vermont, in a new poll of New Hampshire finds that sanders is leading clinton 4437 amongst democrats. It is the first time in any poll we have seen anywhere that Hillary Clintons number is lower than Bernie Sanders number. Sanders had those big crowds and a lot of star power, including endorsements from celebrities such as sarah silverman, Susan Sarandon and hes won the allimportant danny devito primary. As bernie continues to fly high, should Hillary Clinton, can Hillary Clinton do anything to stop his movement or slow it down . John right now, she is pretending as if he does not exist. It is a good look for her to be attacking donald trump or marco rubio or scott walker. At the same time, this phenomenon keeps growing. Shes now has these hollywood stars on his side. Hes got this a little obamalike buzz. It is clear that a lot of people in the polls still say they dont think he will be the nominee. Somehow, she has to figure out a way to talk about that and say, i know you are having fun talkin to pollsters, but you will not vote for him. Mark you will hear bill clinton make that argument, if he is still hanging around. I think she cannot risk going negative on him and doing opposition research. It could backfire big time. I do think she has to find a way to slow them down. She needs to study his record harder than she has or has led on publicly. Maybe unleash bill clinton. And somehow send a message it is not about electability, she needs to make the case she would be a better president. John she could take bernie on on his own terms and say i will not go negative. Im just going to talk about the issues. Mark what would they be . John she could say you are a socialist on these things, right . She needs to find an artful way to do this, but do what her husband in 1992 and say this might excite some parts of our party, but this is not the way to win the presidency in 2016. Mark this is just one poll. If he continues to be ahead or even, they need to figure out what to do before the new year. John John Ellis Bush Bush Bush Bush . Is heading to las vegas tonight. My question for you is given that trump is throwing punches, how big of a problem is that for jeb bush . Mark i think its a huge problem trump is going easy on everyone else, tough on bush. A new poll in iowa has trump winning. The polls are suggesting the debate did not kill him, maybe dented him a little. He can start doing paid ads against jeb. He can keep making jeb the embodiment of the establishment and has nobody to attack at this point. Nobody else is doing particularly well. Jeb has money in the bank and i think trump is trying to intimidate jeb and his super pacs from going after him. It is bad news for jeb bush. He has enough problems without having to fight trump basically by himself. John his situation we had this new iowa poll. Jeb is down in the midsingle digits. Hes slipping in New Hampshire. Like Hillary Clinton needs a bernie strategy, he needs a trump strategy and does not seem to have one right now. Dr. Carson it was wonderful. The food was spectacular. The people here were wonderful. I loved it. Mark what are the other landmarks in new york city that you would still like to go to . Dr. Carson i hadnt been to the 9 11 memorial until this morning. That was really eyeopening. I have never been to the top of the statue of liberty. I have been on ellis island. I would like to do that. Mark this is a great city, but it has problems like most urban places. What are one or two cities that you think are working as models as the way urban areas should work . Dr. Carson im not sure that there are any that are absolute models, but i do think there are some general principles that are very important. Fiscal responsibility. The cities that have both governors and mayors that are fiscally responsible obviously are the ones that have done the best right now. I think that is a general principle. As we look throughout the nation, its just, i guess, maybe could it be coincidence that the ones who have governors that are fiscally responsible tend to be the ones in the black and doing better. John you get asked questions about black lives matter. You talk a lot about culture. Do you think there is a problem with systematic bias within Police Forces in america against africanamericans . Dr. Carson like i said, i think fear and unfamiliarity creates problems on both sides. And the way you solve that problem is to create relationships. It is not surprising, obviously. If you take people who might come from two different cultures and you put them together in a naturally conflicting way that you will have problems. That should not be surprising anybody. John there are proposals out there to try to change Police Practices like body cameras. Do you think those changes are necessary and, if so, what changes would you like to see in terms of Police Behavior . Dr. Carson i think body cameras are very important. I love it. Pretty soon teachers might start after wearing them, too. Mark or president ial candidates. Dr. Carson everybody. I think the thing that is most important is introducing police into communities who are known in the community. There used to be deep conflict in this community. Still, in some communities there are. I was talking to an officer in baltimore. He says Everybody Knows him in the neighborhood. He says he never has to worry about dinner or lunch. People ask him to come on in. That is what happens when you have relationships. That can stop a lot of this. John one more thing on this topic criminal Justice Reform. People are concerned about the incarceration rates for african americans. Do you think there should be things done for mandatory minimum sentences, other things in criminal Justice Reform and what would they be specifically . Dr. Carson specifically, there are certain nonviolent crimes that probably could be punished differently than sticking them into criminal university where they learn to be criminals, where they learn to become violent criminals, where they develop relationships with the wrong people. So, clearly, that is something that is to be looked at. The whole prison complex, the way it is becoming an industry which needs to be fed that is absolutely the wrong model. We have 5 of the worlds population and 25 of their inmates. That is deplorable. We need to acknowledge it is a problem and we need to make adjustments that are necessary. Mark your Party Controls the house. Speaker boehner, senator mcconnell. What is something you think two of them as Republican Leaders are doing well now . Dr. Carson well, they are leading their respective bodies. At least able to bring some things to the floor. I would like to see them be a lot more aggressive. Mark in what ways . What specific things would you like them to do . Dr. Carson specifically, for instance, with the recent Supreme Court rulings on gay marriage. I would like them to come out with very specific proposals that will protect the religious freedoms of people so they are not losing their careers, their shops because of their religious beliefs. I think that needs to be done yesterday. Mark even if the president would veto it . Dr. Carson they should do it in a way that the president would dare not veto it. John there is this deal being considered on iran. Lets presume the deal becomes the law of the land. If you became president in january of 2017, would you try to get rid of the deal as soon as you got into office or would you let it stand . Dr. Carson i dont think that is a reasonable deal at all. I would be very anxious to come up with Something Better. If we could not come up with Something Better to reimpose severe sanctions and do whatever else is necessary, because a nucleararmed iran is going to be a nightmare. John you would revoke the agreement as soon as you became president and try to seek other options . Dr. Carson i would either revoke it or do Something Else that is appropriate after getting appropriate counsel. Mark last few questions first is if you were to come up with a slogan for sylvias, what would it be . Dr. Carson the best Collard Greens in the world. Mark that is a good slogan. Last question, you were seen more than people have ever seen you in the debate. Im wondering if more people are recognizing you after the debate . Dr. Carson no question. A lot of people are coming and saying i did not know who you were. The wonderful thing is i was in the airport yesterday. A lady came up to me and said, im a staunch democrat, but i love you. Tom im not going to say anything bad about jeb bush because i admire him and respect him. This has nothing to do with jeb bush. It has everything to do with john kasich. Mark i listen closely to everything you said about john kasich, and i know you believe it, but every word could be applied to governor bush as well. Tom let me say this look at john kasichs electoral record. He has won 11 general elections in a state that is genuinely a swing state. The last two, taking a governorship away from a sitting democrat, and winning a large reelection. He has an optimism and a vibrancy to his approach. He has had huge success as a person who balanced the budget at the time bill clinton was in the white house. That is a welcome experience and a range of experience that sets him apart from the field. John i want to talk to you about how john kasich is doing in New Hampshire. This poll just came out there are two things i will cite. One is kasichs growth. 1 in march and now up to 12 in august, and now he is in a horse race with jeb bush, tied for second. Tell our viewers what explains that meteoric rise in your state. Why is john kasich breaking through there and why is he a good New Hampshire candidate . Tom he has a way of communicating that people up here like. There is an authenticity, theres a relatability to him. Obviously, my brilliant leadership completely turned it around. The other thing he did from a tactical standpoint was he wanted people here to know who he was. He went on television with a fair amount of very positive Television Advertising when nobody else was on. That he contributes to the buzz. I saw him do all kinds of events and there begins to be a conversation about john kasich. People come up to me and ask what do i think about the kasich guy. He had a Strong Performance last week. He had a couple of memorable moments in cleveland that contributes to this. Every campaign if they are worth their salt eventually has their moment. We can remember other people who had their moments. We remember a paul simon moment. The issue is when you get that moment, how do you crystallize it, how do you put it to work and extend it . It is the ability to use that moment when people are listening and are attentive to make the deal and say here is what i can do, pay attention. I think for that reason, the opening of the hearts and minds of New Hampshire voters to him is very hopeful and gives us a lot of reason to keep going. Mark in a field of 17 candidates, besides your candidate, who do you think is in the top tier of most likely winning the primary come february . Tom i think you can take a look at where people are structurally. Id put governor bush there, senator rubio there, senator paul, senator cruz, governor christie goes in there. I cannot mark you didnt say trump. Tom i was about to say that. I dont have an ability to make that representation, whatever we are seeing now, lasts. It defies a lot of the common rules of politics, but it is real, its palpable and it endures. We will see how far it goes. You can make a very good case for eight or nine of those 17. That will not be the case in january. It certainly will not be the case in february. But, this field is genuinely wide open. It is deep and talented. Anybody trying to narrow it its a fools errand.
