A woman who was saved from drowning in a canal, is raising money for the Canal and River Trust.
Agnieszka Kwiecien, of Whinny Heights, Blackburn, has decided to give back to the community by running 310 miles, after the advice of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) saved her life.
Miss Kweicien was out running along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal near Whitebirk when she slipped and fell into the deep end of the canal, but she remembered the advice from RNLI ‘float to live’ from an advert and applied it.
Passers-by eventually helped the 36-year-old get out of the canal and wrapped her in a blanket.
