Cellar and Packaging Technician

BLACK PLAGUE Brewing is increasing our production and seeking a safety-oriented, mechanically talented, highly organized Cellar & Packaging Technician to join our growing team! The Cellar & Packaging Tech is responsible for the duties involved with the fermentation cellar and all packaging processes. Wort is made in the brewhouse, but beer is made in the cellar. The quality of our beer can be greatly affected by the cellar and packaging processes.
The primary focus for this role is to ensure the quality and integrity of our product. You’ll be helping to package our great finished beer into kegs and cans, as well as assisting with the cellar processes of vessel sanitation and quality control procedures, i.e. cleaning and sanitizing fermentation and conditioning tanks, as well as transferring beer from tank to tank, ensuring the beer is transferred efficiently and in an aseptic manner. The Cellar & Packaging Tech should be aware of the fermentation stages of beer in the cellar, the cooling of fermenting and conditioning beer, and helping to carbonate beer to the correct level. You’ll also be cleaning and sanitizing product lines and other equipment as well as the general working environment in the cellar. In addition, the Cellar & Packaging Tech is also responsible for checking dissolved oxygen of the beer, and any other task in the cellar that is deemed necessary. Other duties include cleaning the floors, outsides of tanks, miscellaneous parts, floor drains, catwalks, filtration equipment, cellar racks, and containers.
