Bhawana Kanth to be the first woman fighter pilot to join R-Day parade

Flight Lieutenant Bhawana Kanth is set to be the
first woman fighter pilot to take part in the Republic Day parade. Bhawana will join the IAF’s tableau displaying mock-ups of indigenously-manufactured Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, Light Combat Helicopter Rudra, Rohini radars, and BrahMos.

Harsh Vardhan posted a congratulatory tweet and called the moment marks “the dawn of empowered women-led New India.”
Currently posted at the Rajasthan airbase and commissioned on a MiG-21 Bison fighter plane, Bhawana has been shattering glass ceiling through her journey in the armed forces, and is no stranger to being first.
