BELPRE — Belpre officials are hopeful that the Belpre City Pool at Civitan Park will be opening this summer, if the COVID-19 pandemic situation permits it.
Belpre City Council held its regular meeting Monday evening. Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases, the Belpre City Building has been closed since Nov. 18, with all business conducted by mail, phone and electronically. Monday’s meeting was held by Zoom.
Officials discussed the Belpre Pool situation after two members of Boy Scout Troop 91 in Belpre asked for an update on the pool situation as part of their attendance at the council meeting while working on merit badges and other projects. Scouts Sonny Britton and Hunter Neff said they were interested in finding out about the pool’s status and if there was any type of support or help they might provide to earn community service hours.
