The blast. We can go to Beirut And Anna foster. We were speaking to our colleague who was saying the news has been reported on iranians media. That is right. It is an important moment. What i think will be a moment when you see a collective outpouring of grief in southern suburbs of beirut and the south of the country and the south of the Country And Bekaa valley is when we have the funeral. I have no indication when it will happen. It will happen reasonably quickly because these things always do. Perhaps tomorrow. That will be a big moment. If you look back to just over a week ago when we had the attacks with pagers and walkie talkies. People gathered at funerals and a second wave of attacks came then so when people go to a funeral they will remember what happened a week ago and be nervous. If you support hezbollah in the stronghold areas, they will want to be part of their collective grieving process. That is something that i think well have a real impact on the streets of beirut and on the people. You were speaking to our colleague not too long ago. These scenes we are seeing in Downtown Beirut with people who were in dahiyehjust picked up what they could and fled when the attack started. We are watching people arrive every now and then and giving away food in the backs of cars. People are too scared to go back and do not know when they Will Go Back. In back and do not know when they Will Go Back Will Go Back. In terms of the funerals. Will go back. In terms of the funerals, will Will Go Back. In terms of the funerals, will the Will Go Back. They probably will not but they will be wrestling, many of them, with the need to want to be there. We have talked about hezbollah and Hassan Nasrallah as part of that organisation and how he was a figurehead. People will feel they want to be part of that moment. Also of Course Bear in mind we have reflected about it on the Bbc News channel. While we talk about the hezbollah supporting people and the emotion they feel, there are different emotions on display in israel, where there is a sense of relief that Hassan Nasrallah has been killed in this israeli Air Strike. We have seen celebratory scenes in places like syria. Hezbollah were responsible for assassinations here in beirut in the past. While some are filled with grief for his death, in other parts of the middle east, we see relief and in some case celebrations. See relief and in some case celebrations. We also heard a News Conference celebrations. We also heard a News Conference from celebrations. We also heard a News Conference from the celebrations. We also heard a i News Conference from the Prime Minister of lebanon. Obviously, they are not able to control hezbollah militarily, but he talked about people fleeing to syria and talked about up to i million people displaced. The lebanese government is struggling. It is now facing a massive challenge. It is struggling. It is now facing a massive challenge. Massive challenge. It is and has been massive challenge. It is and has been struggling massive challenge. It is and has been struggling for massive challenge. It is and. Has been struggling for years with the various crises that have been happening in this country. There is a lack of trust in the political class. This is martyrs square in the centre of beirut, the scene where there was huge anti government protests. Thousands of people who squeezed into this square to protest against the government. That is why you have a Caretaker Government now. I was here in the last elections in lebanon and they were not able to form a government because of the various parties and factions who could not come together and decide, so you have an acting government. There is no president at the moment. They are having an enormously difficult time. Financially the Country Teetering on a huge financial crisis for years. With the extra challenge they have to take on, the responsibility, Finding Homes for people, they cannot stay on the steps here. At the mosque. Huge demand in hospitals. Non governmental organisations, the un is active here as well. They are doing what they can but the scale of the challenge that faces them is huge and growing all the time. ,. ,. Time. What is being reported in the iranian media on these reports that Hassan Nasrallah has now had his body recovered . Right now hezbollah has an office in tehran and iranians officials are attending a ceremony held for him, and a commander has also attended that. Apart from that, the iranian officials are issuing statements. Today, the iranian Parliament Speaker echoed what the iranian Supreme Leader said and said the Resistance Movement will give a response to israel. The tone is much different from previously when there was an assassination, and attack to iranians or iranian allies because previously the iranians would always say that iranians would always say that iran will take a harsh revenge on israel or the us but this time it appears the iranians, the tone is slightly different. Yesterday, Ayatollah Khamenei said this would not go on avenged, which is a more restrained tone compared to previous assassinations and attacks. Today the iranian Parliament Speaker would mention resist, not that iran is going to take a harsh revenge. Probably iran know they are in a difficult situation because the dilemma is they either go for a full Scale War or have to wait. On the other side if they do not respond, which has angered some in iran. They know israel will not stop the attacks because hours before the attack on Hassan Nasrallah, Benjamin Netanyahu said we can target anywhere within Iranians Territory. I5 anywhere within Iranians Territory territory. Is it possible militarily territory. Is it possible militarily that territory. Is it possible militarily that if territory. Is it possible militarily that if iran i territory. Is it possible i militarily that if iran does not respond because it does not want to escalate, that israel has a big Military Victory over hamas, hezbollah, orthey hamas, hezbollah, or they continue hamas, hezbollah, orthey continue to go after houthis. Iranians officials, even high ranking officials are talking about infiltration. Which show something important. Military Technology And Power aside, iran is in an Intelligence War with israel and has so far lost it. The Hamas Leader targeted in iran. The same pattern has happened in lebanon when hezbollah commanders were targeted. Sometimes the target was the second, third floor of the building and that exact location was targeted. The same happen to Hassan Nasrallah and it shows the infiltration is widespread. So far israel has managed to win the Intelligence War over the technology, which is important. Iran knows what decision they make, they know there is a probability the israelis will know in advance. The indications we are getting from iran are not pointing towards a big retaliation . We do not towards a big retaliation . Do not know exactly. We dont but what we see from officials, i think they are shocked. They have not made up their mind. They are now using a restrained tone until they make a decision. Who decides . Definitely Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader, the buck stops with him. When it comes to nuclear negotiations, military responses the buck stops with the Supreme Leader. It does not matter if it is a reformist or hardline president , he makes the decisions in The End. King charles has reflected on his mothers final days in scotland, saying it is a uniquely special place for the royal family. He might be more comfortable Landing Punchlines than paso dobles, but comedian Chris Mccausland who is registered blind has already impressed the judges as a contestant on strictly come dancing. Shaun hayward is a dancer with the same Sight Loss Condition as chris, and he hopes that more people will now be inspired to get moving. Mairead smyth went to meet him. Dancing the cha cha, Chris Mccausland and dianne buswell. Liverpool comedian Chris Mccausland is already a Standout Star of this years strictly The First Blind Dancer to take part, and hes inspiring others like him. Its absolutely fantastic that we are shining a light on dancing with sight loss, with disabilities, and just generally it encourages anyone, hopefully, to think you know what . I can do this. Sean, who has the same Sight Loss Condition as chris, started dancing Ia Years ago. Once id learned the maths of the feet, than i could apply that to the funk in my body. I started with salsa and modern jive, which i always say to people to start with, especially anybody with a disability, because its so inclusive. Its easy to learn and it gets you confident. But he only started lessons in the last couple of years. Its inspirational, if youre teaching him anything its inspirational if youre teaching him anything and he hasnt quite got it, he wants you to go over it and it over until he does actually get it. So hes such a positive person and, to be perfectly honest, he has actually educated me, as well, while ive been teaching him. Sean also suffers from charles bonnet syndrome, which causes hallucinations common in people who lose their sight. When i was about 25, thats when i really noticed that i had lost someones face, and that was heartbreaking, to be honest. Im constantly hallucinating, and thats because when youve seen in the past, you can get this condition, because the visual cortex is just playing up saying i want to see things and when im dancing it helps me to just be in that moment. So the hallucinations ride with me, rather than coming at me. He started to compete and has even danced at the home of ballroom. I was the first blind person to ever qualify to compete at the Winter Gardens in blackpool. It meant the absolute World And Ijust thought, if my father could see me now. Hed always wanted me to dance. The last year has been tough because of injury and illness. Seans Guide Dog Kev has got him through the tough times. Hes been amazing. The last time i stayed in hospital i decided kev was going to stay with me, it was just great to have him with me. Just the therapy of it all, hes notjust a guide dog. I want people, whatever their issue is, if youve got social anxiety, especially after covid, dancing will break that for you. As they say, dance like no ones looking. I always do. Yeah, follow my lead. Mairead smyth, Bbc News. The question of Whether Alien Life exists is one that has been debated for decades, and for many still remains a subject of fascination. In september 1967, families on a Housing Estate in the uk described seeing a ufo near their homes. More than 50 years on, the events are being retold in a new play. Our reporter, liz copper, has the details. Have you seen one . A sceptic . Aufo . No. The cast of Bright Lights over bentilee. The play dramatises the sighting of a flying Saucer Landing in the potteries in 1967. Landing in the potteries. In 1967 there really was a sighting of a bright light and of something that was ufo shaped and was unidentified. And this story goes back to that and tells the story of what happened to the people that saw it and what they might have seen. The idea that something might be out there in general, and that this is like a genuine kind of world where people on a Mass Scale saw something in our area. And i think thats kind of like really wild and magical. In the late 60s, news reports covered the unexplained events on the bentilee estate. It seemed like a saucer, you know, and then it changed in different colours. It changed like a red, and then it would comej into a like of a greenish colour and then a blue. But there was no heat. It was just a red i glow, like a sunset. Those accounts inspired writer deb mcandrew. It was seen from all over the place, hanley and fenton. As part of her research on bentilee she also uncovered this report detailing 70 other ufo sightings. People who saw this were the ancestors of the people who live here now. Just ordinary people, you know, not fanciful people. They were just working people. And they saw something extraordinary one night in in september 1967. So itjust felt really magical. Did it happen . Yeah. It happened. And then that was it. But they saw something. Yeah. And i believed them when they tell me they did. Flying things. Objects that cannot be immediately identified. You mean .
